Smart move by Strong to stay at UL, imo.
In the ACC he should be able to win enough games to go bowling every year and have a consistent 6-8 wins. UL fans will be happy with that for a few years before putting pressure on him in which he will possibly get a better job offer before being exposed as an average coach.
IF he were to go to TN he would do no better than the 6-7 wins and after 3 years be fired cause he couldn't run with the big dogs of the SEC.
I just read some posts and an article at the Vols website. LMAO at the tools that still keep thinking they have a shot at bringing in Jon Gruden. The denial in that fanbase is rampant.
It's also funny reading the respnses to being turned down again, and again by the various coaches. I love it!
They are ready to jump out of windows. They have no clue who to hire.
job is being turned down by every body
Any thoughts on the man of the hour (Charlie Strong)?? September 14th is going to be one hell of a day down in the crack of the state of Kentucky.
Should be a much better game. A lot depends on how uk finishes out it's recruiting class. If we can land a good juco d-end then our defense could be much much much better. Our offense is in good shape as long as maxwell stays healthy. I wouldn't be surprised to land a juco interiror offensive lineman.
In terms of charlie strong. He owes half of his $$$ to Randy Shannon for getting fired at Miami and allowing bridgewater to come to uofl. Without Teddy Bridgewater UofL is lucky to win 7 games this year and doesn't make a bowl last year.
Strong could easily become the next gene chizick. Bridgewater is gone after next season. UofL will make the jump to the acc with much better competition. Without bridgewater and the new pressure of the acc UofL could be in trouble. By accepting such a silly contract from UofL strong has to maintain the level of winning he achieved this year against much stiffer competition.
IMO this could end very ugly.

Wouldn't be suprised to see UofL go undefeated next year, setting up a great senior season for none other than Teddy The Great.
They have to play Boise State which will be tough for them next year.
If he has the season most expect him to have next year he won't be around for a senior season.
If he has the season most expect him to have next year, the score on September 14th will be
Undefeated should get them blown out for the 2nd straight year in the Sugar Bowl. Sounds like a grand proposition.
Do you represent most of the unintelligent ul fans or ALL of them? Get a new door for that trailer too.
Damn this guy is a real --ick!! Why doesn't he climb back into that Lowsyville hole he came out of!!!
He represents the majority for sure. Doesn't even recognize a compliment to one of their players. No need to stoop to the level of this one.
You're a cock.

Jchso2 you seem to hate a lot when referring to people or places but I think he stayed where he wanted to be and isnt a moron for not wanting to coach in the SEC. Maybe he is happy and his family is happy where he is and didnt want to uproot them to take the SEC job. $$$ isnt always the endall to a lot of people and a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush.
Are there people stupid enough to actually believe that Strong turned down a significant pay raise at UT because he was "loyal" to UL?
Yeesh, PT Barnum's adage is just as poignant now as it ever was.
Jimmy Cheeks' trust in Strong's word is, if anything, the biggest reason Strong is still at UL. Well that, and the ridiculous overpayment by UL.
Lowsyville? Basically what you're saying is that the state of Kentucky would be nothing without Lexington..
Lexington is the ass crack of this state, you're a complete moron if you think otherwise. Considering the city of Louisville generates more than 80% of the enitre state's gross income, I can easily see where you got Lowsyville from.... My trash gets picked up on Tuesdays, don't be late.
Good point man, you sure got me. Would you like to further explain how the city of Louisville is the "trash" little brother of Lexington??

I like Lexington. I actually love it. It's a lovely college town and I plan to raise a family there. Now fuck off.
I can't believe I'm actually going to try and answer this post with factual information ... but here goes.
Louisville's metro area GDP is $58B out of the $165B for the state as a whole. Slightly over 35%.
Personal income for Louisville metro is $48B out of $141B for the state. An even smaller percentage ... 34%.
Exactly how do they teach math in Jefferson County?
On an Ipad, not a cow-pie.
Let's be honest they don't teach much of anything in Louisville.
Have you double checked with your boyfriend to see if that's what he wants too?
Why don't you run the numbers for Lexington mr factual?
Any chance one of the moderators so concerned with improving the site quality starts banning low-post count troll accounts?
