Will Wolford is going to be the new coach at St. X. That will hurt the recruiting at X.
Recruiting the state of KY is not the answer for UK.
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Emerson
Yawn...recruiting in Ky is not the answer. We need to open up in Cincy and be more precise (if possible) in Fl, Ga and Tn.
Beat me to it....
Besides, be honest with yourself. If you weren't already a UK fan, and wanted to stay in state, where would you go right now? Sad but true.
Who was the last high level player to come out of St. X? I can't remember, and please don't say Daylen Hall.
Deuce Finch, I think back in 2007. Went to Boston College.
Since we are talking about the Catholic schools, I wonder how big is Trinity's recruiting budget?
Isn't our starting center from St. X? He's on plenty of watch list right? Come on guys! He played pretty well yesterday and will be in the NFL.

Yes he is.
While UK will need to continue to fill the majority of it's roster spots with out of state kids, in- state kids will likely be the staff's best chance to land highly touted kids since some will have an allegiance to UK or want to stay close to home. So having high school staffs at least neutral to UK, if not friendly, is significant.
Yes, I'm aware Matt Smith is from St. X and he has played very well for UK during his time here. He has worked very hard in his 5 years at UK. I'm very happy he was moved over to the OL when he came to UK. However, I don't think he was highly recruited if I recall. My point is St. X has not produced a lot of high level recruits recently. I don't think UK is currently recruiting anybody at St. X. Maybe that will change.
If UK doesn't start winning soon, it won't really matter who is coaching HS teams in Louisville.
You know, in all fairness, shouldn't the hometown school in louisville be the favorite with kids that live there? I mean don't we expect the Lexington school kids to stay and play at UK? If you look back we have picked up some very talented kids from louisville that came to play for us.
