Now that the dust has settled and we have 22 in the fold, who else do you think UK might add to fill out the class? I am guessing they will add Hearns since there is space, but who do you think? I am still holding out hope for Josh's mystery "higher rated than any we have" recruit.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and it has made all the difference (Frost).
I think the one Josh is referring to is Toby Johnson. I think the staff adds 2 of the following 3 if qualified Hearns Lawson and Johnson
I'm betting that Lawson is a Cat by close of business Sunday, agree that they're holding out for Hearns which is a good move IMO. Johnson would be icing on the cake.
Who's Johnson ? Sorry I'm sure I missed it but just can't recall
but i doubt he ends up in lexington more likely is UGA
Thanks for info. GBB!!!!
I don't think UGA can get him, they signed 32 recruits I think, signed 19 last year, I do not know about the class having early enrollees that didn't count, but based off numbers alone I don't think he ends up there, and he did say he would shock the world.
But if Johnson, Lawson and Hearns (I hope he actually does qualify bc that would be great), then this class would be amazing, but the class itself right now is really good.
I'm still thinking Lauren Jackson. 6'-4", 294# DT who played under Brumbaugh at East Mississippi CC. But if Johnson or Lawson step up, I think the staff takes one of them first.
"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up."
This sounds good to me.
i would rather have Corn Elder, Lawson, and Hearns
I'm really hoping Hearns because we need one more linebacker, Stoops even said so himself today that he would like one more guy at that spot. but as the days go on it seems less and less likely that he qualifies.
Yeah..James Hearns would make this class special...another 4 star stud on D. I think if we get either Lawson or Johnson we should be elated. Both are tremendous talents at DT.+1's across the board!! Really want one more 4 star type special player to fill this class out!!

Agreed BB12... Man I wish I could have read some of your posts yesterday, I bet you were pitchin a fit, I know I was... SD was great guys, can't wait to see how it all unfolds a week or two from now. I like Hearns as well but if the kid is truly having issues passing in HS I'm not sure he's worth the risk, if we do land him and he makes it maybe a few "welcome to SEC Football" hits lines him out... GO CATS!
What about this guy any info?
he has a worse chance than Hearns of qualifying... as in there is realistically no chance he qualifies
Lawson, Johnson and Hearns would be nice adds. Also noticed old commit, David Washington, didn't sign with anyone. Found that interesting.
Stoops need to call to Calipari on Elder.
Dual sport star Cornelius Elder spent some time with a basketball coach on national football signing day and now has a timeline for making a decision.

Same story with Griffin. Didn't sign LOI because of basketball.

There really is a lot of talent still out there. Hopefully, we will be able to get one or more that ends up qualifying.
Some of the recruits have started running together in my mind in terms of who does and who doesn't have academic issues. I know Hearns and Taj Williams are not expected to even come CLOSE to qualifying. What about Lawson? Does he have academic question marks or is he thought to be good to go and only didn't sign with anyone b/c his offer was pulled by LSU so late in the game that he is now having to visit other schools?
I also wouldn't be surprised to see the staff hang onto all 3 spots so the attrition issue can sort itself out. As it stands right now, we have to see several guys leave the program before we can even get all of our new signees on campus. It wouldn't be a bad idea for the staff to get through spring practice before making it even more difficult by signing 2 or 3 guys now. They very well could hang onto those spots for now and then if there is enough attrition, then use those spots to try and sign elite December JUCO grads who can be counted against this class AND be on campus in time for 2014 spring practice.
