Some other stuff on Winston...
Winston Guy Jr. S, Kentucky-one of my favorite under-the-radar prospects. Guy Jr. Could use a really good combine to go with his terrific production this year. Guy is reminiscent to us a little bit of Bob Sanders with his athleticism. He’s bigger though. He measured in at 6’1 218 pounds.
Today, sadly, is the last day of the N.F.L. combine and it will be the defensive backs. Expect a lot of fast times and shuffling of stocks. Here are
10. Winston Guy – SS – Kentucky, Sr., 6’1” 216 Lbs. – A SEC sleeper that has the experience against NFL talent. Creates action instead of waiting for it. In a game of inches, that makes all the difference.
After countless hours of watching game film, Jayson Braddock and Dory LeBlanc have narrowed down the top ten safeties (combined) of the 2012 NFL Draft. They used extensive criteria that included (but was not limited to) read react skills, man coverage, zone coverage, run support, tackling, physical makeup, physicality, and productivity into de
Some other stories suggest the Raiders, Bears and Jets could be teams in the market for a player like Guy.
He ran a 4.7 40.
He will have a chance to better that at UK's Pro Day, and, he will need to IMO.
4.7 was his first attempt. He also turned in a 4.56.
The 4.56 is more like his true 40 time.

As long as he can keep things around that 4.5 he will be fine. I wouldnt be surprised to see him run around a 4.52 for his pro day. If so he should be fine.
It smells like microwaved homeless people in here.
If this picture was taken just before he ran the 4.7.......uhhh, no wonder. .....those pants are tight. How can you run with your boys all cramped up?
Winston has the goods to be a solid safety in the NFL. Great size, good speed, and good instincts. While he may struggle in pass coverage, he will excel against the run.
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." ~ Emerson
He's also got the ability to come in as a nickel linebacker or 'big nickel' safety. The Giants used a big nickel look quite a bit this year, so expect to see it from other teams with more regularity. It's a copycat league.
The 4.7 ended up as his official combine time, btw.
Better cramped up boys than boys slapping your inner thighs like a jackhammer.
I was surprised to see Winston run at the combine.
He just had shoulder surgery in January and there is no way that shoulder is ready to rip the way it needs to for Winston to run a high 4.4 forty. If totally healthy, he is capable of running what Randall Cobb ran last year, and if he did, he would make a lot of money for doing it! His time is off a bit because of that surgery and that will hurt him in the draft.
WInston value in the NFL will never be more than it is right now. With the tight end becoming the highly use, sexy position in the league right now, defensive coaches are looking for the bigger body, hybrid type player who is physical enough to defend the tight end and who can run like a deer. Winston fits that bill.
It's really not that bad....you get used to it..
Greg Oden didn't
Or your jackhammer slapping your boys.
He's really good defending the middle of the field. Its the over the top stuff that he has trouble with iMO. SS should be the perfect fit.
