"Apparently the University of Kentucky basketball dynasty is to continue forever." - Philadelphia Inquirer, December 23 1954.
Pretty low blow considering how close to signing day it is regardless if they knew they would just promote their OC if he did leave.
I. AM. SHOCKED!!! Wow, lost a lot of respect for him. Hate to say it, but to tell a team your are staying then a week later leave?? Wow, huge move for him. Cannot blame him though. Feel bad for Oregon, though they will be okay
I hope they steal James Franklin.
He just screwed Oregon over royally.
Here is their commitment list. No one on that list that Kentucky would really go after. Oregon is about to be picked apart though.
Why shocked? He interviewed 2 places, so he was wanting to jump to NFL
The latest in years and years of evidence that you simply can't trust what any coach out there says when it comes to this kind of thing. This is how they roll.

Simply because he told the AD and announced he would be staying. I mean I at least though he would hold out for another year for a better NFL job. I knew he was eventually going though
Because he said he was staying at Oregon like two weeks ago.
I'd love to steal Dontre Wilson from them. Kid is electric. Would be the picture of perfection for this offense.

Remind anyone of Bobby Petrino?
I don't always post but when I do, I try to make things interesting
Remember Oregon has a plan in place if Kelly was leaving, I believe that the OC was going to be the head coach. Still a low move by Kelly.
Yeah, the OC should/will get the job from everything I've heard about it. It just reminds me of what Rick Pitino and Ole Bobby has done with the whole "I'm not leaving" than just like that, accept a new job
Shocking. Up until this point, had been vey forthcoming and honest over his NFL interest.
Have to think potential NCAA sanctions played a role in his decision to bolt.
Nick Saban also said he wasn't going to Bama- u can't believe those guys
I don't believe those guys. In fact, it was stated very clearly that a deterrent in his interviews was that he was very non-committal. More often than not though, when someone announces they are staying, they mean it. There are exceptions, but it's not common.
How do you know he told them he was staying? He just wasn't going to Cleveland.
Thats what was reported. And their AD was definitely under the impression he was staying because Kelly told him that he was
