Wasn't a good morning of publicity for former UK athletes:
First, Michael Porter has these charges filed against him (and, wow, having covered him I can honestly say this is one the few times I've been shocked by a former athlete getting into trouble):
Then, Shomari Moore (who still works with the basketball team):
Lexington police arrested a former UK football player on a drunk driving charge early Sunday morning.
Lexington police arrested a former UK basketball player on sex charges early Tuesday morning.

What does shomari moore do with the basketball team?
I will assume that he is innocent until he is proven guilty. Too many times we let the media judge folks before they've had their day. If true, however, he is unbelievably stupid.
Thinking the same thing. Why would an Ex FB player be a Grad Assistant for the BB team?
He's a graduate manager. Does a lot of strength/conditioning stuff for them.
DUIs, getting in fights, messing with married women--that's all stupid
A grown man having sex with 14 and 15 year old girls is sick.
I will say this. If Porter is found guilty he should beat with spiked club over and over on areas of his body I can't talk about on this site.
But I will take the road of, pray he's innocent until he's proven guilty.
I was so glad the day Michael Porter decided to move on from basketball. That kid had no business playing at this level. Still I thought he was a really good guy. If this is true thats out the window as well.
Does anyone other than me wonder why the sex of the victim was not mentioned. The description of the acts makes me wonder if it was a young boy.
Why does it matter, really?
The arrest citation, which I have, doesn't specify gender. One report I saw (Herald-Leader) spoke to a district attorney spokesperson who confirmed it was a female victim.
As the father of daughters I don't find one bit of comfort in knowing that the alleged victims were girls. Molesting 14 year olds is disgusting any way you look at it.
No question about it. It's a sick and harrowing act that in no way is less than absolutely incomprehensible.
I would remind everyone to let this play out in the legal system before jumping to conclusions. We tend to convict people as soon as these reports surface in this day and time.

I agree completely. Let the system work through this charge.
