  • Boyd starting now at #2 WR

    Mcduffen Starting now at WLB

Any other changes people notice, I don't know the chart well enough to pick out any changes among the 2's

    Farmy75

  • ^Mobley's up to #3 @ RB. Sweat is #3 too(don't know if that's different or not). Coleman is #2 @ DT. Shields looks to be starting. Etc.

  • Most of the adjustments were at WR; Shields over Tyler Robinson too; McDuffen over Brause

    Was Coleman in the doghouse?

  • Mobley passes George as the 3rd back.

Surprised to see Simpson retain his spot.

I believe they were just making sure he wasn't having any problems from off season surgery.

    Why so serious?

A little bit. Turner told me a few weeks ago that Coleman had things come so easily to him last year that he was kind of coasting a bit in camp.

I don't think Simpson played as bad as it seems, you over think, you'll play slow. I'm not saying he's fast as W. Guy but if you're over thinking, it will slow you down. Minter needs to dummy down his scheme

  • All look to be well-deserved changes in the DC. Boyd looked really good out there. I still can't figure out why they continue to play Robinson as an outside WR instead of in the slot, though. I just don't see him being able to go up and fight DB's for higher or deeper passes, which is often required on the outside when the QB has to get it over a DB who may be in front of the WR by a few yards. To me, he would best be used in the slot with Collins as it looks like we're going to be running more 4-WR sets anyway out of the shotgun with no FB. I thought all of the other outside WR's (King, Boyd, McCaskill and Fields) looked good on Saturday, so I can't really call for any of them to be benched in favor of a freshman, but I would like to see Sweat worked into the rotation more. If he is likely to be a starter next year with King, Boyd, McCaskill and Fields all graduating, he will need as much experience as possible this year.

Thanks....Kid did show flashes of talent last year that's for sure.

  • I'm giving Simpson a pass for the pour run defense. The Cards were flipping the strong side around so much that Simpson found himself playing strongside DE at times. Nice scheme by their OC.

It won't be McDuffen or Brause starting at that WIL.

  • Glad to see Boyd working hard and getting a chance to start.. IMO he and Collins were impressive Sunday.. I really think Collins can be the big play weapon that we have needed since Cobb left..

  • Even more difficult is for Robinson to get a free release or use release techniques on larger CBs.

  • If Sweat doesn't get on the field and get some work Joker should be shot. With Boyd and King we have two possession wide outs who can't get yardage after the catch. With Sweat he is a threat to take it to the house at any time. We have to forget the feel good stories and put the players on the field who will break down a defense.

  • I'm guessing the double top secret info is that we'll see how well the freshman LBs (Khalid Henderson and Pancho Thomas) fit into the defense. Hopefully they can show they are more capable than what we saw last week.
