Agreed. looks to have the "IT" factor. I believe this kid could help us at TE..as a flex-Te that can split wide and take a saftey and just manhandle him or run past a LB. could also help as a LB/DE type...able to cover some bigger wr's and TE's...rush the qb...I think he fills out to the 245 range and keeps his quicks.

Kid looks faster than that. ESPN is usually a little high on the times it seems. He's also got really long arms, thick build, and huge mitts.

ESPN usually uses the 40 times that are electronically timed at some of the camps. Those are always more accurate than a stop watch ala the NFL Combine.

this kid if we get him will be a steal. he said he has a clemson offer as well. he could easily be 240 by a redshirt yr. we gotta figure out away to get r te on the field if they can catch even when they cant block yet. ne doesnt ask hernandez to ever block

From what I've heard..Dowdell is a high 4.5-consistent low 4.6 40 kid. I like him as a flex-TE...(playing a lot of slot.) Should have a matchup advantage...big and strong enough..with long arms and good leaping ability..to separate from smaller db's, and the quickness and acceleration to get behind LB's and slower safties.(Are there any slower safties left in SEC? LOL)
If he somehow didnt pan out at TE..Im sure he could be a very good OLB..Rush Backer with long arms and great quicks to get past OT's from the edge!!
