From the way it's looking Gall is starting to heat up, he's only ranked a low 3 star but I like that kids quickness and agility. Bivin is one of the most sought after O-Lineman the state of KY has ever produced. Riles will be very very hard to get too. If you would have asked me a few months ago about any of the top instate kids I would have told you I know none of the UofL kids were heading to UK but I really thought Timmons and Bivin would be speaking alittle higher of us right now. Then I saw were Petrino showed up at Timmon's HS a year before SD and I knew that would be tough for Joker to bounce back from... With Joker's future up in the air, as bad as I hate to say it this may end up being a very weak class unless we can get a few good ones early on that other kids want to play with. It would also be nice if we could get another Pat Grafree, he won us a few recruiting battles...

It's going to be tuff to get 14-16 solid ball players since it seems like Joker's job may be in Jepordy. If we could have just beat UofL last year and made a bowl game I really feel like alot of these kids would be a lock or atleast have us higher up on their board... Now other staffs recruiting against us are telling these kids "Joker is done after this year" so the number one thing we need to do is start off with some W's...

The reality is that Gall and Biven may not be able to pass up an opportunity to be a part of a potential top 5 recruiting class. Especially for Biven, who by all indications considers ND his dream school. If Gall comes away from FSU without committing and Bivens doesn't commit to ND on the spot if an offer is made, you have to think that our staff has at least made enough of an impression that these kids didn't jump at the opportunity.

As for whether our recruiting "takes it on the chin" if these two commit elsewhere in the near future, that's an asinine statement. With a hundred or so scholarship offers every year, it's just not realistic to think you're going to get your top choice every time. Certainly not at UK, with a fanbase screaming for the head coach's job, a poor showing last season, and the public perception that the fanbase and administration do not care about football. It would hurt with Biven, with him being from in-state, but he wouldn't be the first in-state kid to go elsewhere and probably not the last, either.

I would love to have both of these kids anchoring the tackle spots in the future, and until next February, the possibility still exists that they will. But even if these two commit elsewhere tomorrow, they aren't the only kids on the board, and they are better off playing where they desire to be.

If Hunter already has his offer, and neither of these guys commit after visits, I think we can thank our staff for giving these two enough to think about that they didn't commit early to "dream" schools or recruiting powerhouses.

I KEEP SAYING AND IL KEEP SAYING IT WIN WIN WIN IF U WANT TO GET THE TOP NOTCH PLAYERS. if we go 5-7 again we will get a class from 35 60 if we win 7 r more we have a shot at some major coups. joker has the juice and the staff now it comes down to the product on the field this is his 3rd recruiting class is it not fair for us to expect a better seson than his first?

Pretty sure everyone here is aware of my "agenda." Just because I don't agree with everything (anything?) that UK athletics and Mitch does doesn't mean I don't support the program. I want to see it get better - my means my be different than yours. Also, you can hunt as long as you want and you'll not find a negative word that I have said about Joker. He is a symptom, not a cause.

Yep, I read plenty. Let me know when any ONE of those guys commits. Even the guy that came up from GA planning on committing (Trey Harris) couldn't be convinced (albeit UK didn't try very hard). The OL that was HIGH on UK just got an offer from FSU. One of the Ohio linebackers that visited said UK's coaches are "weird." Another DB who visited (and who UK has drug their feet about offering) (Trey Cheek) just got an offer from Cal and is likely to commit. He also said that UK was "nice" but that UL was "serious about football" and that Charlie Strong was "the truth." (In other words, UK is the fat girl with a good personality.) There's two OL from Milton HS in GA that are high on UK right now, but UK is dragging their feet on offering them. They will be high level recruits before it's all said and done and UK is missing their window of opportunity. If you can't get them to commit, or if you aren't sure you're going to offer them, having them on campus does nothing for you - second place doesn't count in recruiting. See, I read plenty - you might want to try it yourself. You might find that things aren't quite so rosy.

Well lets see, the recruits gotten in 2007 and 2008 helped our team but didn't make it great like the seniors and juniors did. And then we add those guys to our 2009 group and then Joker was made HC on 1/6/2010. Who was the HC responsible for recruiting during those years before 1/6/10? I mean if we want to blame Joker because he was an assistant, fine. But why do we now blame him as the problem as the HC and not the assistants? The reason is Brooks didn't do his job the last 3 years in recruiting, and the HC is the guy where the buck stops with him, so how can we give our previous HC a free ride and dump it all on Joker now? At least Joker has made changes in his staff to improve recruiting, while Brooks showed his loyalty to a group that couldn't get it done in bringing in top athletes. I love Brooks but this direct blame thing against Joker is really wrong when it comes to recruiting.
