I agree with your main point. harrow not attacking the hip of a trapper in a press = not getting fouls called.
many may disagree, but once it was evident that Harrow wasn't going to be aggressive vs. the press, I would have put the ball in Goodwin's hands. his out of control dribble in the back court can't lead to bad shots, so it may have led to them actually calling fouls...
It felt like we got beat by 40. If we could have simply beaten the press we would have won.
As I've said before. The game vs. Florida boils down to how it's called. If we get a favorable whistle at home we have a legit shot. If not, we will lose and lose bad.

So, I'm an idiot and know nothing about basketball because I said Shows wasn't a bad ref. You all say that refs shouldn't stop calling fouls on a team because of their style of play. And then I read the statement that we have a legit chance to beat Florida if "we get a favorable whistle". Kind of ironic don't ya think? It's the end of the world when UK goes on the road and calls go against us but then we hope to get "a favorable whistle" at home. I'm sorry, I swear I read on here where people said a foul is a foul is a foul no matter where the game was played? And again, I'd like to point out no one on here was bitching about us getting the same calls Arkansas got the other day when Pitino was here. I love the double standard some people have.
As for Shows. I said earlier that all officials make mistakes and some of them are bad mistakes. Shows is no exception to that. But for all the bitching everyone does about him, just remember that he was graded good enough by the powers that be to officiate the Final Four last year. But I guess those people in charge don't know anything either.
You know, officials get paid decently for what they do. And Doug Shows is one of the highest in demand. He officiated 70 games last year. At roughly $3000 per game, that means Shows made right at $200,000 last year on officiating alone. I would almost guarantee that is more than 95% of us on here make at our jobs. So, since officiating is apparently so easy for most of us to do, I just have to ask why more of you aren't getting into it? I mean, if these guys are that bad, it should be pretty easy for all you experts to climb the ladder rather quickly. After all, the NCAA wants the best officials they can get. You'd get paid a damn good salary to run up and down the floor with some of the best athletes, see some great teams and games, and most importantly you would help clean up the mess that is college officiating.

Damn, our secrets out.
Maybe one day I'll be as knowledgeable as you hop. It's highly doubtful though.
When a game is at Rupp, it will more than likely be called in our favor. When it's on the road, it more than likely wont. That's the way it always has been and more than likely always will be.
