  • Looks like they went ahead and projected Teague as coming out in 2013 and both he and Harrow going in the late lottery. He is definitely high on the 2012 UK prospects.

  • Lamb will be an interesting case. Based on his current position, it's clearly in his best interests to come back to UK. But there are many around the program who say he's looking to move on more than anyone else in the program.

  • You wonder if Lamb came back if he wouldn't be bored and thus drop off a little.

I think he'd be a good pro (7th or 8th guy maybe in the rotation) but I think he really needs to be more consistent/assertive to play a lot at that level. I think the scouts will want to see one more year to find out if he's got that in him.

  • Is he that tall? He looks more like 6'3" to me.

He will be a great addition to any NBA roster just based on shooting ability. He's like JJ Redick but actually athletic.

First of all, no way Lamb is 6-5 lol

But I do think he is a solid NBA prospect. I think he's improved his stock with how he's ran the offense with Teague out of the game. He could play the point in a pinch in the NBA. I think that's what a lot of teams were looking for.

But I agree. I think of all UK's players, he's the one who is most looking ahead to the NBA.

I find that odd. He's the least ready physically other than Wiltjer on this team. He really needs to get stronger. I just feel like he'll get knocked around like a rag doll in the NBA. Any chance that people have just read that situation wrong. I remember last year people saying that DL was the guy looking most forward to the NBA and he stayed. This draft is pretty loaded. I mean he's not a first round pick IS HE? I feel like he's got all the skills and with some physical maturity he could be damn good in the NBA. Maybe I'm off on this one.

Lamb could get stronger in an NBA organization just as easily as he could at UK. In the right situation, Lamb could be a first round pick.

The one knock on Lamb in my opinion is that he scores and he can play back-up point guard for you. Outside of that, he doesn't do much in the way of defense, rebounding, etc.

  • That is exactly why I've said that Lamb should stick around for 4 years and try to make the transition into a full time Calipari PG. He could do it. He's athletic enough for sure, and handles the ball well.

It would help him in the NBA, but college level or pro, he's not a point guard. Just has to be able to play spot minutes there in the league. He's a 2-guard all the way.

Plus, with Teague, then Harrow, then probably Andrew Harrison coming in, he'll never see significant minutes at that spot for UK either.

I guess thats true. But speaking in terms of draft status getting stronger at UK would help. To me a lot more strength would help him defensively.

Is Harrow that good? and if Teague comes back, when will ever get to see him?

    Yes and yes. See Wall/Bledsoe.

I disagree in terms of his defense. He's done a nice job on defense this year... Possibly our second best perimeter defender. he was outstanding on Jenkins.

The Lakers would love to add him to their bench.

So you think Lamb is an NBA level defender right now?

I think he is when he's focused. The big key with everything regarding Lamb (IMO) is consistent energy and focus.

I think a lot of his shortcomings as a defender are hid pretty well with the talent around him.

I agree with this. UK's defense has looked very mortal without Davis on the back line.

Absolutely he is an NBA level defender right now. His problem is consistency on both ends of the court. He tends to lose his defender too often because he knows Davis is there to cover up his mistake and offensively we don't run enough plays for him to keep his interest.

I think he is eyeing the NBA too much and that he SHOULD come back for his Jr and possibly Sr. year.
