Fields, after Roark was benched against CMU, had the following games:
UL: 7-57 UF: 2-16 LSU: 1-16
He participated against USCe and J'ville State prior to Roark returning to the starting lineup, but didn't have any catches.
So: Roark is the starter, gets benched against CMU. Proceeds to catch 10 passes in the next 5 games coming off the bench. Fields, in the same time span, catches 10 passes, including 7 against UL, 2 against UF, and 1 against LSU. He participates in every single game after that point, even after Roark is given the starting job after catching 13 against MSU, but does not record another caught pass.
So can we finally stop with the myth that Fields "never saw the field" after the UL game?

Seriously, does absolutely everything have to be turned into a conspiracy to keep the superstars sidelined?
Fields was the second best receiver for UK against UL and caught a few more passes in the next couple of games. Roark caught 13 passes against MSU and earned his starting spot back. Now there's some sort of coaching/quarterback agenda against Fields to hold him down, in a season where the team was desperate for playmakers?
Good grief, no wonder so many people are miserable. They are constantly jumping at shadows.

Going by memory he didn't have many passes thrown his way to be able to catch a lot of balls. I didn't say he didn't see the field. I said hardly see the field or maybe I should have said see the ball come his way, but he didn't play the last 4 games of the season. And I can't remember more than 6 passes being thrown his way after UofL. Now maybe that was his fault for not getting open I'm not sure. But they stuck with Roark and he broke out. I didn't see the same with Fields after looking like the best receiver on the team against UofL.

Fields is listed on the participation chart for every game of the season save Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
Here's a handy link for your reference: http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2011-2012/teamstat.html
I have pointed out the catches he made after you initially claimed that he "never saw the field" after the UL game.
Now that your statements have been discredited and proven factually incorrect, you've gone into a backpedal that Caffey can envy.
Instead of "never seeing the field" now Fields is being held back because the QB and coaches managed to scheme away from him and refuse to throw the ball to a clear superstar who caught 7 passes against UL one time for about 8 YPC.
Ridiculous. EJ could very well have a good season if he improves a few things. I certainly hope he does. Maybe he'll break out, catch 10 TDs, and be All-SEC. But to act like he's some proven game-changer who, but for the ignorance of the coaches, would have had a monster season last year is just inane.

Fact is that Fields did play after the UL game. That he didn't have many passes thrown his way would not be the fault of the coaching staff but rather his route running and being in sync with the QB.
I remember Roark being benched and lauded the staff for sitting him. Roark was a hard worker and a special teams demon. IT sucks that he struggled to catch the ball like all our WR's.
If Fields wants more PT he needs to be more consistent in practice and in the games.
You may not have intended for the post to come off as negative but it clearly did, especially with you trying to defend your stance that Fields didn't get a chance when MM clearly showed that he did.

I would also add that Roark was a tough dude and probally the best blocker of the WRs. If you must decide between recievers that are all dropping the ball you go with the tough one, that played with a lot of heart, that is a good blocker, that has paid his dues on the special teams.
I believe that Roark also proved he was some what a leader by what he did in the UT game.
Roark was a tough motivated football player that probally was not a great WR but I would have welcomed him on my team.
