Early ND vs Alabama predictions

  • This will be a great game to watch although a lot of offense may not be there. I really would love to see Bama beat ND BY 30 but I think it will be a low scoring game and sadly I am picking ND to win 24--20. I know I should pick Bama and wish I could but I have to go with how I think the game will go not the way I want it to go. NDs defense is excellent and may have the next Heisman Trophy winner on it. Bamas offense is better than NDs but I think the Irish will put a lot of pressure on the Bama QB and they will hold Bamas scoring total down a bit and a bit is all it will take. I really hope that Bama will bring another NC to the SEC but I think ND is on a mission that they will complete no matter how much I want them to fail.

  • Bama by 10 or so, I will say 27 - 17. Bama will run the ball as they did against UGA and ND will not be able to keep up.

  • Bama just ran it down Georgia's throat yesterday. I'll be interested to see if they can do the same to ND. Irish defense has been nasty.

    I just think Nick Saban/Kirby Smart and the Alabama defense will be a little too tall of an order for Everett Golson.

    LSU couldn't pass it and became very one-dimensional in last year's BCS Championship Game and Bama made life a living hell for them moving the football.

  • I take Bama, Saban with a month to prepare is a scary thought. I don't think ND will be able to score enough before there defense wears down. Low scoring game by 10 or less.

    It is scary to think Saban w/a month to prepare and like I said I really would like for Bama to win and give the SEC another championship. Is there any doubt that the SEC is the "Big Daddy" of the college f-ball world just look at the past 10 years and see the record. With that being said I again say that ND is on a mission and may not be denied. Their main weakness IMO is the passing game on offense and that will probably decide the outcome.

  • I look for Bama to win by 14 pts or so. It'll be closer than most people expect up till late in the 3rd qtr.

  • Texas A&M and Georgia are the only teams to score more than 2 tds on Bama all year. And they both have top 15 scoring offenses ... ND doesn't. They won't score on Bama. 24-10 Bama.

  • Bama by two touchdowns or more. ND will bring some quirky wrinkles that may work in the first half but by the end of the 3rd qtr they will hit the "SEC wall".

    Your probably right about NDs young QB and thats why I said it would come down to how he can or cannot throw the ball against the Bama defense. How he handles the spotlight in the biggest game of his life is something I wish I could experience just once, but I guess I will just have to settle on posting on this site which can be both inspiring and uninspiring.

  • Bama has a better O-Line than most NFL teams..and thier backs are big and fast. Lacy and Yeldon will run rampant over ND. Dont see ND scoring much..if any on this Bama D..it will be something like 38-6, 38-10.

  • I think Bama's speed will be more than anything ND has seen. I say Bama by 10+.

    Let me say I hope you are right about the final score but I just cant see ND losing by 28-32 pts in such a big game. Both defenses are very good and Nd wont score a ton of pts but I dont think Bama will either. I think the most crucial aspect of the game is how the young QB of ND responds to all of the pressure that is there in the NC game. GO BAMA

  • It's obvious there is a SEC bias on this board. All you ever hear is "defense wins championships" and then all but one pick against the #1 defense in college football. Scoot over sleepydog I'm coming out on that limb with you. ND to win 17-13.

  • Alabama has the #1 defense in college football, at least according to NCAA.com. #1 rushing defense, #6 pass defense, and #1 in total defense. Even aside from that, I'd still take Bama myself, simply because I think they're a superior team over all.

  • There's just a feel to ND this year. It's been a long time and I have a feeling ND will play harder than Bama. I'll join the limb people and pick ND. No score. 1 point is as good as 30 in a 'ship.

  • Notre Dame hasn't been tested the way Bama has been tested this year. That Irish defense hasn't faced an O-lIne like Bama's . I'll go out on a limb, BAMA 38, ND 10

    I hope you're right just not with bama winning. I have to live with them and listen to most of my family. So needless to say a bama loss is much better for me personally.

    No they don't. That's absurd to even suggest that any college team has an OL better than ANY NFL team. Bama's is good but you are talking about veterans and MEN in the NFL.
