  • Note that freshman DT Thomas Chapman has entered the depth chart as No. 3 DT behind Donte Rumph and Mike Douglas. He has yet to play this season.

    Other minor changes of note:

**One safety spot now has 'OR' listed between Mikie Benton and Dakotah Tyler
**Kory Brown now No. 2 behind Miles Simpson at LB/S
**RB Jonathan George jumps Raymond Sanders to No. 2 RB
**WR Daryl Collins jumps Gene McCaskill to starter at one WR spot

with their play and their ability the have shown, it's no surprise to see Sweat and Collins both up there on the top of the depth chart. Chapman now listed as #3 on the DC is kind of telling as to how he is progressing and showing that others just aren't stepping up and taking their opportunities. He has SEC size, think he may be coming along like Coleman did last year Matt or Chris? I for one am hoping Tyler gets more time at the S spot, has good size and speed and hits like a speeding truck. With Brown's play and the way George almost carried our offense last week, I think he should be #1 on the list and not #2. Kid ran with some determination last week, something I think we've been missing and nobody else showed last game

  • I know the staff is under a lot of pressure, but I really hope the staff does not burn Chapman's redshirt. From reports we have read, kid has a lot of potential, but needs a redshirt year. Chapman and UK will be better off in the long run if he redshirts. The chances of this season being salvaged simply are not high enough, IMO, to warrant playing Chapman.

Good to see Jonathan George getting the nod after a solid performance and after Raymond Sanders let his teammates down.

Does anyone know how many games Sanders is out? I haven't heard, may have missed it. And I agree George should get the nod and it has to be earned back. Screw up should cost you your spot on the depth chart. If not, it sends the wrong message to rest of the team.

with the way George played last week and Ray being not playing due to a suspension of sorts, I see no problem with this

  • Sweat deserves more playing time. He's made plays seemingly every time he steps on the field.

I don't understand how a DT improves that much in 2-3 weeks... Every person close to the team has said Pat is ahead with better strength yet Joker is going to play this kid? Makes no sense... I thought he needed a ton of work in the weight room??? Don't be surprised if you don't see 4-5 more kids burn their Redshirt. The tweets may be true...

Agree with this 100%. Looks like they already burned AJ Legree for pretty much nothing, should not do it on Chapman to play just a few snaps a game. Know the staff is looking at it as do or die time but they still need to be smart with the true freshman.

I mean, they're three games into the season. There are nine to go. Plenty of time for a young kid to get more work as the year goes along. That's what they did with Dupree last year.

I hope they burn EVERY redshirt on EVERY FRESHMAN. The staff doesn't deserve this kind of hatred. Play Towles, Play chapman. sarcasm

I would have to believe it's more than one week suspension. I believe is like 2 or 3 games bases on past players with first offense. I am sure it will be confirmed as week goes on.

Nope, both Sanders and Cobbins have been reinstated.

I would love to see them throw the deep routes to Sweat. The kid needs to be on the field a lot more.

Seriously?? I find this hard to believe. Not saying I don't believe you but pretty sure this doesn't match team rules?!?!?

Yes it does. Basically its tested as a positive drug test. The punishment for that is 10% of the season which is one game.

You are right. Checked it out. It's one game first suspension, 1/2 season 2nd, full season 3rd and 4th lose scholarship. IMO this is way to lenient.

    1003blue

  • Sanders should be listed as #4 and that is lenient. Let Mobley get some meaningful carries and let him blossom.

Yeah, I thought Mobley was going to be a good one.. Oh well, I guess it was another case of overhyping. Playing RB is not a learning curve lol, so if he was any good, he would be getting playing time.
