  • Not sure what, if anything, it means but freshman DeMarcus Sweat is no longer listed on UK's depth chart at either WR or kick returner

**UK freshman WR DeMarcus Sweat may not play again in 2012 in order to focus on academics. Joker says he's looking out for the kid's future.

I am guessing this is why?? Working on academics instead of practice/playing. Mid-term grades just came out last week I beleive.

Its a shame he played again after his injury. Should have tried to milk that for a medical redshirt.

I agree with that 100% but if we burnt his red shirt and then "maybe his hard ship yr,then why not get him in the game?

Seems like a really poor job our coaches have done with this, wasted year.

Just because he didn't redshirt this year doesn't mean he can't redshirt in the future. Also, injuries to other players have caused more freshmen to HAVE to play.

  • I'm interested to know more about Ligon jumping 2-3 guys to be the starter at TE. Any insight there....can anyone elaborate on the competition there and how Patrick has moved his way into the 1 spot?

Robinson has battled injuries the second half of the season (back issues, if memory serves), while the coaches saw Ligon as more of the blocking TE over Shields when the offense dictated being more run-oriented.

Hey Catfanin Ms, not sure I understand your comment. The depth chart Matt provided to open the thread lists Pat at the 1; are you saying that in today's game Pat will be the 2 behind ? Thanks for the feedback!

Okay, thanks for clarifying. I now realize that we're talking about two different Patricks. I had asked about Patrick Ligon moving up the depth chart to a 1 at TE. I was a little surprised with that, given Robinson, Shields and Gabe were all ahead of him earlier in the year.
