Football Recruit Robert Lewis from Somerset

Can someone tell me about this kid from Somerset. They say he has offers from Nebraska, Georgia, OSU, and UofL. Lists him as a DT at 6'5" 290#
Does anyone know why UK has little interest?

My guess is because he made it clear he has no interest in UK, but only a guess. We should go after all the top talent in state, but we shouldn't waste our limitied time and resouces if they are obviously not interested imo.

Could be mistaken, but I don't think he's got any major offers. He came to UK's camp. I think they liked him a little bit, but didn't think he was an SEC-type guy.

Thanks for the info if true. UK just have to do something to get these kinds of kids to UK IMHO. If what you said is true, I wonder what turned him off to UK? He has no * after his name but some big time offers.

Who is this "they" you speak of? I dont go to scout or rivals. Was it posted there?

It was listed in the database under Kentuky HS players. It was either here or the other site, CI. I was just looking down the list, I think 77 in all, and saw the kids size and clicked on his name and they showed a bunch of schools listed.
Living in Taiwan I never follow recruiting but I do like to see who from Kentucky goes to UK.

Like I said, I dont really follow reruiting but it just aught my attention because of all the football schools listed. For all I know the kids is a complete bust.

Yeah the guy has no offers. Geez Hotdice you certainly have a lot of opinions on our football team yet you don't follow recruiting much and you can't tell the difference between offers and interests. Strange....

Had lots of "intrest" early on from some good schools but they all cooled off due to play or grades one.

I work with a lady who has a son that recently got a letter of "interest" from Miami. He's a great kid/student and decent athlete, but is likely headed for DII, with an outside shot at an FCS offer. Most schools show "interest" in tons of kids that they never personally contact other than by letters.

Well first, I live out of the country and have learned a long time ago that what is written about this or that recruit means nothing until they actually sign. But it doesn't take a genius to have opinions about the UK football program

Lewis and Latrell Wilson from Pulaski SW were talked about during the summer as being potential recruits but nothing ever materialized.

I believe the point being madeis that if an agenda post is being made, something quite different than constructive discussion, one shouldn't complain about responses taking no more effort at discussion.
I chose not to respond to the OP. Why? Because I have heard repeatedly that Joker spends a lot of time with Ky HS coaches (and players) and do not understand the unsubstantiated claim he does not. Further, the OP did not give the year or site that these offers were found on. I think Drummond said he did not have this kid with these offers, IIRC. No discussion material but a lot of bait.

I went to school with a Richard Lewis who was a starting player on the Jumpers D at Somerset in the 60s and he was a hoss. Dont remember his postition but he was strong, lean, and about 6' tall. I was hit in practice by bigger players on that team but I didnt want to be hit by that guy. He hit hard and also had a mean streak. Bet he's related.
