The UK football team is set to stage its first practice of training camp Aug. 5. CatsPause.com will look at four players a day leading up to camp, including La'Rod King.

  • Thanks again, Matt.

    12. Newton: I don't see him playing much QB this year. Although his shoulder has healed nicely, I doubt it is really ready. Any idea how he is coming along toward a degree? If set to finish this year, I see no reason to red-shirt him. Otherwise, it would be iffy.

    13. Leet: I always like former QBs holding the ball for kicks. But, without game experience elsewhere, I don't know much of a threat he would be or if the staff would trust him on a fake. But, sometimes plays break down and a former QB to try and make something happen might be as good as one can hope for.

    15. Caffey: I'm excited to see him play at CB this year. I wonder if the dirty birds will try and test him the first game.

    16. King: in 2009 Cobb and Matthews combined for 71 catches (39 and 32 respectively) and 7 receiving TDs (4 and 3 respectively) compared to King's 40 receptions and 7 TDs last year. If he sets his mind and works hard (I sure hope so), I believe he will have a banner year. The potential is there, IMO.

Can't wait for the next one later today...

  • La'Rod needs to have those kind of stats for THIS season.

  • Thanks for the update. I am really excited about King and Caffey. If we throw as much as Joker says, I don't see any reason King can't have 65+ catches and 1,000 receiving yards.
