CatsPause.com takes a look at four incoming freshmen, in numerical order, leading up to the start of camp, including running back Dyshawn Mobley.

  • Thanks again, Chris.

    I had forgotten about Wright.

  • Nice write up. very interesting. These are SEC level first class recruits.

  • Mobley is a beast. The scary thing is..he has tremendous vision..can change directions without slowing down and has outstanding acceleration. Had a slew of 35 plus yard TD scampers where he just dodged and hit the jets...wasnt touched. All that..from a guy 5'11 223...I cant wait to see him and a healthy Josh Clemons eat up chunks of yards behind a improving O-Line.

  • In a year or 2, I can see Clemons and Mobley sharing the feature back roll, each getting 10-15 carries a game, capable of breaking one for big gains at any time, while Taylor becomes the short yardage specialist or even become a fb type guy, capable of catching the ball out of the backfield and getting big yards after the catch. These 3 guys, along with Towles or Whitlow manning the QB spot, along with a deep, experienced line and WR corp, the future offense looks very strong..

  • Taylor is way too talented to just end up a FB. With all this RB talent we aren't going to be able to let Towles pass it.

  • We may have the three most talented backs on campus at the same time in 2 decades. Add a 5.7 3 star in Sanders and Thomas a 4 star talent next year and we are loaded in the backfield.

Didn't Wright have a florida offer coming out of HS or am I making that up?

Ha you may be making that up. Had an offer from Jacksonville State committed to Jackson State.

WHOOPS! In retrospect I think I was confusing him with the Safety that got booted/transferred from FL to UK was in on and maybe ended up at WKU? Was it Darren Myles I'm thinking of?

Anyway, I'm excited about Wright, other than having the same last name, I think he can come in a be a player.

  • Randy Sanders told me he expects both Mobley and Taylor to play this year. Clemons isn't out of the woods injury-wise...seems it has taken much longer to rehab than expected. I's love to RS one of the Freshmen, but it may depend on Clemon's health.

Taylor coming off injury as well. My only concern with him.

Agree with this ^^. Things are beginning to take shape...especialy up front..and with our backs and recievers...and we will ahve 3 SEc caliber QB's..dont count out Whitlow..kid is a beast...if he gets some accuracy and touch..learns the playbook..his athletic skills could move him to the front of a talented 3 qb pack. I think Max Smith, Pat Towles both could wind up NFL passers.
I also think AJ Legree, D.Sweat, Yancey, R,Cunningham can help us as WR's...with D.Robinson and Collins providing Cobb-ish playmakers as slot wr's/ parttime rb's.

  • I think even if Clemons is held back due to post-injury afflictions..I see us being able to rs taylor...Mobley can handle 20 carries..we still have Coshik, Ray Sanders, Jon George...and I look for Newton and Whitlow to get more than a few carries as wildcat QB's.

Don't get me wrong, I hope we can redshirt at least 1 of the Freshmen RB's. I'm just communicating what Randy told me. He also said both WR's (Sweat and Legree) will play this year as well.

Thanks for the information catfan. I wonder if Clemons might redshirt? Thanks again.
