Nick Saban inundates a recruiting target with hand-written letters, often several in a single day. Wario sends an email... Is there any wonder that one is a world-class recruiter, and the other hasn't signed a recruit in seven years? It is beyond mind-boggling that he is still on the staff...

Its becoming more and more evident by the day that Joker is planning on signing 2 qbs in this class. I think Will Gross could be the wildcard. He is scheduled to camp at UK twice this summer and has UK, UL, and Miss St at the top of his list.

While I'm not impressed by the idea of the DB's coach emailing the offer, really, I would expect that all offers in writing would come from Joker. No problem with a phone call or face to face verbal offer from a positioin coach directly recruiting a kid, but an offer via letter (especially hand written or at least signed) from the HC would go a little further I would think.
The good news is it seems this recruit was excited to get the UK offer and is really considering us as an option.

I believe all written offers MUST come from Joker. It's what makes it officially official. Assistants can verbal in whatever manner they please. I just wouldn't think that email was preferred...

When I interview hiring candidiates, receiving a handwritten "thank you" means a lot more than an email. Also, we are told to send clients handwritten notes rather than emails. It's just basic practice and shows a much higher level of interest and consideration than an email.

Absolutely. I often initiate contact via email, but given their help; it is proper etiquette to send a handwritten note. Something as important as an SEC scholarship offer should be done in a handwritten note or told to the recruit.
