    From wikipedia:
When a high ankle sprain is diagnosed the doctor will determine if the injury is stable or unstable. Stable injuries are the less severe high ankle sprains when the placement of the tibia and fibula stays normal. Unstable high ankle sprains occur when two or all three syndesmotic ligaments are torn and the tibia and fibula are free to move around. Unstable injuries require more treatment, and usually surgery. During the surgery one or two screws are inserted in the lower leg for a few months (usually three) or until the ligaments have reformed and are able to hold the bones in the proper position.[4] Recovery from a high ankle sprain can take 6 months or longer. So 3 months, likely out for season at this point, maybe around for Samford and UT and possible bowl game. It could be unrelated to the high ankle sprain though, which is entirely possible.

  • High ankle sprains are the pits. Faulkner had so much promise coming in and it's just been one obstacle after another for him to this point.

You're right......pretty decent report especially coming from Wikipedia.

Though this is all assuming that it's a high (syndesmotic) ankle sprain. That may have just was reported.

  • Once again thank god for Dakotah Tyler doing what he had to do to get back.

    tWhit

  • He just said to someone he tore a ligament in his ankle. So there ya go. Yes thank god for Tyler

    Beezy1123

  • Still I hope Faulkner is okay long term.

    tWhit

  • If its a torn ankle ligament, have to think the best course of action would be to go ahead and redshirt Faulkner. Might be good for his long-term development anyway. If he does redshirt, UK will likely need at least one freshman safety for purposes of depth and special teams (one of those freshmen have have jumped Faulkner on the depth chart already anyway).

    Jeremy Grey

  • Yea we def should use redshirt on him now

Yep. Don't think he was on the two-deep as it was.

    Benton, Lowery, Tyler & ?.....

What's the most likely two-deep at the moment?

Eric Dixon, CB recruit from last year. RS'ed and moved to safety, where some thought he would be better long term anyways. 3 star recruit form AL.
EDIT: he didn't RS, but did move to safety, dispite the roster on here saying CB, the Depth chart from start of fall camp said S

  • I thought Eric Dixon played very well last yr as our 5th DB. If a couple of the highly touted freshmen CBs can really come on then I can see him being back at S. And you guys are so right about Tyler, it is a blessing that he is back. Speedy recovery to Glen, I hope that when he is recovered that things are going well enough that the coaches don't even consider not putting the RS on him.

  • Poor kid. There isn't a whole lot going right for him to get on the field as a significant contributor thus far in his short time at UK. I hope he recovers well and goes on to become the stud Safety we all expected as one of the few Army AA's we have signed. Here's to a speedy recovery for Glenn!!!

Sterling posted on Twitter that he was hurt and was going to have to shirt, for what it's worth.

When did Simmons move to S? That must mean they like some of the freshmen at CB?

FWIW, I thought Cody Quinn looked really good at fan day.

  • This is a time when the type of coaching staff we have can really help Glenn through this recovery process and keep him otimistic about going forward. That is one of the things I like about all our coaches. Hope you recover quickly and are able to keep your chin up young man! As far as Dakota Tyler is concerned, I distinctly remember many saying on boards that guys never make it back, and even if they do they rarely break into the lineup. Well if this is in fact true, then Dakota has beaten all odds in both instances. He toughed this thing out, kept his word to return, came back in excellent shape, and is now fighting for a starting position...tell me this guy ain't a winner!

I also didn't know that Simmons moved to safety. I guess that means that Tiller, Quinn, and Harmon are looking really good so far. Have you heard how Cantrell McKinley and Zach Blaylock are doing so far?

  • That really sucks losing him to injury. It's one reason I don't mind him not RS last year. Now that he is injured we can RS him this year and get him back healthy next year when we will be really good.

  • from a very reliable person that covers UK at scout.com- Faulkner was already being passed up by 2 true frosh at his spot (pre-injury). Faulkner was gonna be a special teams only guy this season in all likelihood.

TrueUk, thanks for the reply in answering an updating info about Dixon in the two deep at safety---appreciate it! All I knew to go by was what you pointed out was on the roster here, which was CB.
