If you haven't watched tonight, you've missed out. No doubt the cats best game so far this year. Cats up 5-1 in the 8th... got to finish.

Bullpen in 5-4 now....

Watching the LSU crowd makes me a bit envious. Would be fun to have a big time college baseball atmosphere like that in Lexington.

As I type this, UK just lost the lead with at least the third wild pitch of the inning. What a nightmare inning, following up on the theme for UK this year. Two Walks, three infield singles, bad error, wild pitches, HBP, and four runs thus far. Very solid starting pitching on this year's squad, but they've struggled in most every other facet of the game.

Trainwreck. Can't blame the coach for what just happened.

Been hard to watch, absolutely feel apart

He gave LSU the momentum by leaving the starter in too long again. Same thing over and over. Give the other team mo and then expect your pen to bail you out. Our bullpen is terrible but Henderson is the pitching coach and our bullpen will be our starters soon.

He best be gone at years end

Jeff you can blame a coach when you are down four funs in the ninith and you aren't taking any pitches. First batter in ninth takes first pitch for a ball and swings at next pitch and grounds out. When you are down 4 in the ninth you have to take a pitch until the ump calls a strike. The second batter swings at the first pitch . Two outs on three pitches.

Meyer was done in the 7th. Riddle doesn't make that catch and LSU breaks it open. JMO, but for sure Meyer IS their best pitcher. Again, IMO.

He was lucky to get out of the 7th. Riddle had a miracle catch to save a run there. He barely could find the plate his previous two pitches before that catch. He tried to throw his hybrid slider and it didn't move at all and almost hit the guy. He was done. I know our bullpen has struggled but when you continually put them in jams and let the other team get the momentum, then that's on you as well.

Matt, I think both you and Blue Mold are right. Meyer is our best pitcher and he was pitching a hell of a game last night but he was starting to lose it in the 7th. If it was me, I run him out there in the top of the 8th but pull him after the first walk, not the second, because he was at a pitch count of 100 to start the inning and working off of a 4 day rest, instead of the normal 5 days. From there it turns into the bad fielding choices and shotty bullpen work.

It all went down hill after Luke Maile's bad fielding decision.

...I have been critical of Henderson at times, but not last night. In hindsight, I may have pulled Gott after the one batter due to Maile's mishap... tough for a freshman to take the hill in a game like that on the road and have that stuff happen behind him. Not that Gott did anything wrong and I think he has a bright bullpen future for UK. I Like Luke's game a lot too... just a bad decision.

Hey, what about the good stuff? WIlliams blast, Riddle's catch? Meyer was killing it out there.
