Headed to Columbia this Saturday

  • We're making what's become our annual trek to Columbia. We have good friends who are SC supporters, or at least the wife's Dad is, so we take in a game with them each season. This year, fortunately for me, it's UK. Of course, my son and their son are best of friends, so my son will be decked out in his SC gear cheering on the 'Cocks. He likes UK and loved Randall Cobb, but he's just now starting to get into college football and SC has captured his attention. Anyway, I hope to see Big Blue finally put it together and play like many of us thought they would before the season started. Go Big Blue!! Go 'Cats!!

  • There will be 4 empty seats in the UK section. Feel free to sit in them.

  • Not 1 person of those 6 will be missed. Good luck Alpha I wish I could join you. As far as my son wearing anything but blue...He may have been left home accidently.

I couldn't do that. I did the same thing to my parents. Because they were such huge UK fans, I chose to cheer for other schools to spite them. I know, awful. My son isn't doing that. We live in the Atlanta area and he's 10. Not much UK fandom down here and one of his closest friends has access to the SC program. He loves UK as well, though. Loves, loves, loves the basketball team. Still talks about John Wall and loves to watch Doron Lamb play. The same is true for Randall Cobb.

  • Yeah I hear ya. Thats actually how I became a FSU fan. The late 80's and early 90's the Noles were rolling in football plus my childhood hero Deion Sanders played there so it was a shoe in. I have said from the beginning that if my son is lucky enough to play college sports I dont care who the team is I will immediately be their #1 fan. I will say though I might have a red shirt on but you can bet there will be a blue one underneath and close to my heart.

  • I wont be going but only because I'm taking the fam to Orlando to Seaworld and Disney World for the week. I tried to get them to take 95 down and chill at the hotel or shop or something for a few hours, of course dad was all in but wifey and my mom's blooped out. LOL.

What sucks tho is that I really think we have a shot but only if the offense can score around 24-27 points, and that's asking a lot. I will be soooo pissed if we win and I wasn't there.

I am jacked for the weekend! I'm hoping the 'Cats get it going offensively this weekend. While SC is 4-1, they have not been great. I'm not worried about the D. I think they come up big. But, the O has to help them out with sustained drives and scores.

Alpha I think you and I may be the only ones left who still believe in this team LOL.
We tried to tell last week and they (not everyone, just some of the trolls and Debbie downers with the exception of Prof) laughed at us and basically said we were naive or simply didn't know anything.
hopefully this week we are right again, but we are in this thing the whole game with a chance to win at the end rather than just hangin in thru the 1st half.

  • Rough day to be a 'Cat fan. But, as always, the trip was great and the family had fun. My son, as I've said, is a SC fan. He had a blast. Headed back to Atlanta.
