Hey Chris and Jeff,more recruiting...

  • Don't forget that 2013 is STACKED!!! If we use up all of our scholarships we may not get the great number of players who have us as their #1's. I do think you need decent depth but remember who possibly may be coming for 2013.

I think Oriaki would be a tremendous addition to the team..I hope there is some way to get him..

I think Oriakhi is exactly what this team needs next year. A veteran who has won a national championship and on top of that, a physical presence and a bruiser.

    Agree.

  • I agree also.

  • I'm worried about back-up point guard. Who spells Harrow?
    Can Goodwin play point?

Can run the point in back up duty like Lamb did this year.

We should ALWAYS question the coach, AD, president, etc... IF we aren't questioning them we aren't keeping them in check.

    I disagree.

Cal has EARNED the right to "just coach" "without the drama". We, as fans, aren't going to "keep (him) in check". Cal keeps us in check is more like it. What I mean is the dude is amazing. He has given us zero reason to question him. This isn't Tubby losing ten games for three years in a row, or Billy womanizing off the court and making kids sit in toilet stalls. If Cal wants to run the program in a certain way he has EARNED the right to do it without us constantly questioning his ever move. When he gives us a reason to question him, then fine, but that hasn't happened to this point and I don't see it happening in the near future.

  • jam,

I certainly didn't intend for my comment to come across that Cal should have to answer to me.

Again, this year's team was so good in part due to the steadying leadership/influence of Miller. Any fan who states otherwise is calling both the players and Cal liars b/c they have stated they multiple times in interviews.

I was simply stating that I wonder if Miller's growth/leadership this past season will in some ways affect Cal's mindset when it comes to recruiting some guys who may take a little longer to develop than guys like Davis & Jones.

Plus, aren't message boards for discussion?

that's your wag and I can appreciate that but I disagree. NOBODY is above reproach and without criticism. I don't think it would be fair to harp on any issue, but to not question is unfathomable to me. I did the same thing when Hall, Sutton, Pitino, Tubby, and BCG were coaches... Cal is no different.

I say just stick with recruiting guys like Davis, Lamb and Jones.

    Not directed at you....

Cobb, that's fine...we disagree. No harm there.

  • It is official that UConn will not be able to play in the NCAA tourney. Oriaki is now 100% free to go where he wants and not sit out a year. What schools are on his list besides UK? I personally hope we get this guy, especially if Jones stays (just think he is the most likely of the five to do so, if he can improve his shot he is a top 5 guy, and next years draft class is weaker) as it would likely be the best 4-5 combo in the country. Wake me up, please, I'm dreaming this right?

I still believe Hood will be a solid player before his time is done. He will play some key minutes and help the team with his maturity and experience down the road. I look forward to seeing him back on the court next year.

I don't. I seen him play all throughout his high school career. Very over-rated coming out of high school. He will be good for 3-4 minute stretches throughout the game to let someone take a breather, but he won't have any breakout games.

The only reason he looked decent in high school was 1) He was the only player they had. 2) Most teams they played were very sub par.
