Hoping to See Willie Cauley Play Tonight

  • In Kansas City on business. Hoping to make it to Olathe Northwest's game tonight vs. Shawnee Mission East to get a look at Willie Cauley.

  • Made it to Willie Cauley's game tonight. I can see why Coach Calipari likes him so much. In the first five minutes of the game he's made a nice bounce pass assist for a bucket, provided backside help that resulted in a pass deflection, rebounded a missed shot about 18" above the rim and dunked the put back, called out back screens for a teammate, and dropped in two free throws.

  • Willie Cauley looked really good tonight. His stat line was 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocked shots and included several huge dunks. Olathe Northwest won the game 55-32 despite being down by a few points at the half. Cauley runs the floor extremely well and can really elevate. He picked up his 2nd foul midway through the 2nd quarter and had to sit the bench until halftime.

    As additional update, Cauley has been selected as one of five candidates from the state of Kansas to be potential McDonalds All-Americans.

  • I'm just hoping UK fans don't expect too much out of Willie Cauley as a freshman. He has the potential to be really, really good one day but still has a ways to go to realize that potential.

    Not labeling him a project or anything, just not going to be a huge impact player from day one. Gonna take some time.

    I didn't realize how built he looks until I saw that first photo that Knowbody shared, will be nice to have a big man that is more than just skin and bones.
