How low will this program have to sink?

  • I thought our recruiting was supposed to be so much better than in the Rich Brooks era. Maybe so, but the on-field production looks worse than the year Brooks took over. After all the progress this program has made, how far will we have to sink before major changes are made? We will be lucky to get any coach to take over the mess this is going to become.

  • I don't think people realize just how good a coach Papa really was. I really miss him!

  • Its not like we have far to fall. But UK is the worst football team in the SEC and Charlie has officially knocked Joker out of contention for any recruit of significance in the state of KY.

  • I fear that we will fall back to where we were or worse. I hope I am wrong, but the cats haven't given me anything to be confident about thus far this season.

Well, strike that....we have a damn good punter.

I don't put much stock in a kid picking a school because of who won their annual game. We will struggle to get kids out of Louisville and they will struggle to get kids outside of Jefferson Co.

I do agree...not much space between where we are and the bottom though.

It's not about "who won", but were we competitive, did our coaches put them in a position to win, did we run an exciting offense or stout defense? The answer to all of those is sadly, no. Who would want to play for any staff who fields a team that looks like this one has in all 3 games so this year?

  • Who to blame? The fans who have so low a expectations for UK football that a 6 win season is called a success. Joker is a coach who can get you 6 wins every few years so you all should be happy.

As for me, the entire coaching staff, the UK administration, and the entire mess that is UK football should be fired. No wonder we can't get recruits with such a boring approach to both the offense and defensive side of the ball. People this UK team got beat up front on both the defense and offense with kids with 2 NCAA starts under their belts.

I do not want to hear another excuse.

  • Never underestimate the athletic administrations tolerance to mediocre football. Bill Curry was a consistent 3 wins and 8 losses coach and lasted almost nine years.

  • Yes, it is scary to think how long we may have to endure mediocrity or worse.

Wow! Until you just said that I did not realize how long he was here. Really? Yeah, that was quite a long leash.

  • A losing season this year will put these coaches on the spot to turn it around in a big way next year or they could be replaced after the third year. With all the emphasis on football today I don't think we will allow the program to drop to pre-Brooks levels.

Exactly. Louisville was running the ball, throwing it deep, bringing constant pressure on defense and just all out looked like they were having a blast. Kentucky looked horrible and boring in every facet of the game. If there are instate recruits out there that are truly on the fence about where to go, both teams gave them their answer tonight and the final score had nothing to do with it.

Yeah....going to the Peach Bowl in 93 saved him for a few more years....it even got him a contract extension from the football wise a.d. C.M. Newton!
