How to tell if Barnhart is confident in Joker?

If Mitch is still on board with Joker for next year he will try to protect him by anouncing an inflated attendence at the game. Little tip I heard from Chip Cosby.

inflated.
I would think Mitch would continue to attempt to protect the image of the program though, regardless of his plans w/ Joker.

Then he better get the art department to draw backdrops showing stands full of people. I might be a hillbilly but I can tell the difference between an empty and a full stadium on TV.

I have heard some strange things but this is a good one. It is obvious that attendance is way down. There is no hiding that. Attendance figures are always inflated whether it is good or bad. The announced attendance to any event is tickets distributed, not actual people there. There is no way that Joker gets another year.

This is just silly. Kentucky has always announced tickets sold/distributed, which is almost always higher than actual fannies in the seats. He's not down on the sideline during the third quarter pulling an attendance number out of thin air.

Don't the scanners at the gate all link to a central system that can track the tickets that were punched into the game? And I would think the attendance number could be generated relatively quickly. Assuming that's correct, and UK is announcing tickets sold, that would be an attendance number that is a tad bit misleading.

Now, Now... That is WAY too logical to count scanned tickets and media credentials.

Agreed. 95% of the programs in the country inflate their numbers whether or not they have HC questions.

I should add, in all fairness, the primary thing the Athletic Department is probably concerned about is the number of tickets sold. If the fans are silly enough to buy tickets and not attend the games that's on them (and my family counts among that number - we buy season tickets every year no matter how bad the team has been because we don't want to lose the seats just in case they have seasons like 06-08).
