I was just about to post the same thing.... Big for them for sure..

Surprisingly their 1st 2 4* commits of the year according to rivals. Holliman, the other 4* was a 2011 guy.

Impressive day for them though.

Burgess is a 4 star according to ESPN.

They've also got 4 Star Army All American Gerald Holliman cleared and ready to begin Spring Practice who will join his former 4 star teammate Andrew Johnson (who started as a true frosh at UL).

They also landed former 4 star Universtiy of Florida TE Gerald Christianson (scored a big TD against UK this year) and 4 star DB (Clarke) from Florida.

In all, they've landed 8 Army All Americans in 3 years- Bridgwater, Butler, Christianson, Clarke, Holliman, Johnson, Dawson and Brown.

Somebody forgot to tell Charlie Strong and his staff that the state of KY is simply too big of a geographic disadvantage to compete.

UL fans say the same thing about Cal.

IMO, talent trumps coaching 85% of the time. Coaching is only a factor when the talent levels are similar.

Tell that to Boise State. I'm sure there last few classes were very similar to Georgia's.

Also, where did you come up with 85%? Just curious....

Quite different in football than in basketball.

Of course you want as much talent as possible...but look at schools like Texas, Florida, Georgia in recent years, OSU this season...evidence is there.

We are just falling further and further behind. UL picked up 2 Fla. transfers, one was rated number 2 TE in country. Thank aobut it , we have a high school team in state, ranked #1-5 in natl. rankings. Most feel that they have about 4-5 guys who are heavily recruited, big time offers. Most feel we are longshot with any of them and the best 2-3 we have no chance. This is no way to run the in state program trying to compete in the SEC much less try to out recruit your neighbor in a broken BE conference. Ky offers SEC schedule, exposure.

You know what it shows is that we have a staff that is not comfortable in getting involved in some of these difference maker types. We don't hire guy like Strong, guys who flat out get after recruiting. We have the good ole crew who have hung around Lexington for years, old players who recruit MAC-Conf. USA kids and expect them to beat UL or much less your SEC opponents.

We don't get it, our admin. doesn't get it or they would hold this staff more accountable. It is all about recruits and talent. Vandy is getting it done by hiring a staff that is getting into homes, not settling. Why does UL get UF transfers and get talent in N. Carolina. They recruit like they have a purpose and they recruit like all the great programs do. They know this is number 1, number 2, number 3, number 4 in teams being good. UL gets transfers from Fl because Strong had relationship while he was there. What about some of these kids who chose other schools, none transfer here.

We need to realize that we are falling so far behind personnel wise that we may not beat UL or Vandy in a lot of years. We just are not recruiting well enough to compete. Last year's class was not good enough, 2 years ago was not, 3-4 years ago classes couldn't have competed at Murray St.

Just sickening and sad that this program goes downward every day, this Feb is another dagger to go along with what we have seen as far as personnel. Until UK steps up and makes a concerted big boy effort to recruit better players than the ugliness of our last few season will continue. We settle and the staff make excuses and say "Trust US" we know what we are doing and we can evaluate. The look of the last 2 years on the field and the looks of our commits than I wouldn't trust them to win 3 games next year.

oh, please. You can't compare a know quantity that cheats(HURTT) to WWW.

And yes, Joke knows we have to recruit better hence the reason he has let Brooks coaches go in droves now and bringing in better recruiters. I agree we still have to improve our recruiting more but the classes under Joker have been better than what Brooks brought in the 2 years prior; and those kids are/were our Jr & Sr class.

We have lost to Vandy and UL how many times in the past 6 years?

And let's get this straight, we lost to UL because A. A true freshman couldn't haul in a easy pass and B, Our OL was not healthy and we had no run game. Add to that our DB's where getting beat like they did all season. See New DB Coach. A few 4**** kids doesn't make UL Bama. We beat teams with way more talent in the past few years, see UGA, LSU, FSU, Clemson, USC, Auburn, and even UT has more high 3 and 4 star talent.

Plus if it takes going down the road UL has to get those 4 star kids I'll pass. It will come back on them, it always does. Hurtt is so deep in dirt and when the NCAA gets finished with the UM deal he may be out anyways. And yes Hurtt is the one getting the bulk of those Fla kids. I know the one LB is from Nc. so no need to point that out.

The Vandy game was bad but sometimes it what it is. Hell our 07 team only beat Vandy by 7. It happens, it's the SEC.

Louisville is right now getting more talented players on campus, there is no doubt in my mind.

You would have to be blindly loyal or wear blue glasses to say UL is not cleaning our clocks, not even close. facts or facts, don't let them get in the way of being an agenda driven gloss. No one in their right mind would say UK is recruiting close to UL and I won't even compare it to our SEC brethern. They are getting guys that Miami wants, we are getting guys that Miami of Ohio wants. Facts and offer sheets don't lie. Need to give it up about these so called classes Joker has been recruiting. S. Carolina named their score, Fl beat us unmerciful with their worse team, Vandy ring a bell. UL beats us with a team that was not very good. Come on and give this charade up, UK is getting killed in recruiting and have been for the last 4 years.

I have no agenda except I want to see UK put their big boy pants on and recruit personnel that can compete. I want to see UK get in the fray and quit all the excuse making that we "can't compete or guys go to Bama or LSU" UL is in a conference that will probably lose their BCS ticket and we are getting killed by them. They are getting commits that Fla,Miami want. They are in on great players. Strong is not some meek pushover when it comes to recruiting. No sheepish smiles coming from him ala Spurrier/Joker handshake. He recruits like he belongs and it shows. Same way Vandy is doing it. These teams and coaches are tired of being looked down upon and seen as a fly. I wish UK would get mad and embarrassed and do the same thing.
