I will also add that if I'm a coach at another school that is recruiting the same player as Petrino whenever he lands another job, I will crush him like a bug by making sure the parents know every little sordid detail of his follies.....and the beauty of it is that I won't even have to make any of it up........

HC probably not at this stage. Now lets say Joker has a .500 year and Petrino gets no offers. Sanders is pretty close to moving on, so would you get him as an OC? Personally I would. I dont like him, never have. That doesnt stop me one bit. I would kick my mother in the stomach to win a Championship for UK football.

I don't know Petrino at all. But if his misdeeds (not conclusions or opinions) have been noted in this post, then I believe the reaction here is typically over the top. I was beginning to think Petrino had murdered and dismembered someone, possibly eating some of the parts. We should think before casting aspersions on someone's character. He apparently is a rich celebrity who cheated on his wife. Not good. But no reason to make him a pariah. If that were the rule, most cities would be empty.

Good grief man nobody gives a crap who BP is banging on the side, he could have a dozen side pieces and nobody would care. But when a person is stupid enough to hire them in their department, give them cash under the table, and put the entire university at risk for a huge lawsuit....that just isn't gonna fly, not anywhere.

Oh for the love of.....I'll state this again. Bobby Petrino wasn't fired because he was doing the horizontal bop with someone other than his wife. If he had been banging someone in his own social circle, or even the cutie behind the counter down at the Krispy Kreme, he would still be coaching at Arkansas. Instead, he was:
* Boinking another employee in the athletic department that was engaged to another employee of the athletic department.
* Petrino was already boinking said lady when he PERSONALLY HIRED her into a $50K a year job with a $20K bonus over DOZENS of VASTLY MORE QUALIFIED applicants, and putting UA at the risk of numerous lawsuits.
* He tried to involve a friend who works for the Arkansas State Police to cover up his mess.
* He stood at a podium and lied thru his teeth to his family, boss, players, fans and media about the accident.
* In addition to using a UA issued cell phone to make nearly 4000 texts and over 300 phone calls to his mistress, and topped it off by sending over 200 texts to another hottie "friend" of his in Little Rock, including some that were supposedly nude photos of himself.
All of this on top of him being a pathological liar and screwing over EVERYONE who has ever employed him as a head coach.
What is it that people are failing to understand here?

^ I get that, and if I thought he would do it again, I would never consider hiring him. Fact is though, someone will hire him and likely get the benefit of a great coach who has been humbled to the point of avoiding "extracurricular activities." As always though, UK will play the conservative card and remain a mediocre bottom feeder. Personally, I can't stand Petrino, and in most cases would never support hiring a guy of his charachter, but at some point, if UK football wants to be succesful, it will have to take some chances, something we've apparently been unwilling to do for a long time.

I'm not telling you I know who they are. I'm saying they're out there. If UK had an opening, it would be up to someone in charge to dig in and find them. UofL's current coach -- who people around here seem to gush about -- would have taken this job in a heartbeat had Barnhart offered it a few years ago. Almost any top assistant in the SEC would be here on the next plane if the head coaching position was available.
You guys act like Bobby Petrino invented the game. There were good coaches before him. There will be good coaches after him. And minus the douche baggage.
I'm almost in disbelief that this is an actual topic on this message board.
