I hate to say it but...

  • Not agruing about it because I know we hope to see the same, but I am interested in seeing how my point doesn't make sense.

I do think the Cards have it in them to win it all, but I really think that their guard play will do them in. I just can't put my trust in Siva who has notoriously cost them close games throughout his career. Nor can I put my trust in Smith who can go 10-15 or 2-15 any given night. The tourney is just a crap shoot with that type of guard play IMO.

Again, not here to argue with you, but here to talk basketball. You see one thing and I see another.

A flawless game doesn't exist thats why your point doesn't make sense. Nobody plays flawlessly.

  • By flawless I mean both have to be on their game on the offensive end first. Siva at the very least has to facilitate and Smith has to score. On the defensive end both have to play each game without making stupid reaching fouls and such. I just don't see that happening six games against quality teams. I may be alone there, but I've watched a lot of UL for a long time and that is what I see.

I know you've watched them too, being for the Louisville area and all.

  • You're misunderstanding my usage of flawless. That's probably word usage on my part, but what I mean is those two guards will have to play better than any two tandem to win it all. Do you truly think they can do that against the teams they're likely to face?

  • Again, I'm not saying I don't think they can win it all. I just don't think it is as likely as you might. There are too many teams of their calibre and they are not UK, UNC, or other clear cut dominant teams of recent past. That's all.

  • We at least can find common ground there.

  • THEY DID IT LAST YEAR. Til they faced our dominant team. The National Title game would have been a toss up. I think they are improved from that team. Russ Smith is majorly improved and Siva is playing great basketball. They just beat The Cuse by what 16 after being down by as many as 14. Add in a much improved Blackshear and Wear who are starting to come around and Luke Hancock. They are gonna be tough to beat. Like I said though in the beginning. Its very possible that they could run into a team that handles their pressure and if they refs call it tight they get beat. Your use of the word flawless talking about a basketball game through me off. But yes I think they have what it takes. Just like any team they can be beat but at this point I think they are the favorites to win it all. If someone forced me to put money on a team it would be them.

I know they did it last year. I don't disagre with that last post, but I do have a hard time seeing things as clear cut as you. The good thing about that is they play the games.

Here's to hoping anybody not named Duke, UL, IU, etc. wins it this year!

Absolutely. I'd throw Kansas in with em as well. I'm hoping I'm jinxing UofL by defending their chances.
