  • to back this up. No stats, no facts, or even reasoning. But for some reason I think the Cats hang close with LSU today for at least the 1st half. In the end, I think LSU just has too strong a D to shock the world again just like in 07' but I don't know why, maybe it's simply my lucky UK sweat shirt that only wear for a few games a year, or maybe I'm just so disheartened from the early season...I don't know. I just have that feeling that just like in 06' when LSU thrashed us, we turned the corner after that game and started playing some solid football.

    So, bring it on. Lol. Tell me how crazy I am or how clueless or blind I am, but like I said, for some strange reason I truly believe we hang with them for a while, and if they find a way to turn the ball over (and stars line up just the right way) then maybe....just maybe.

  • I told someone that last night at dinner. LSU is due to at least play a poor game and not just win another blowout, it is rare for a team to just slaughter everybody all year long.

    I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to challenge my knowledge of football or understanding of either team or the game of football itself. Neither of us said UK would win, simply hang closer than some may think in the 1st quarter, maybe the 1st half.

    I didn't say UK would come out and play like animals or how good or talented we were. Obviously you don't understand that there are things such as trap games, over looking opponents, or simply coming out flat. I think LSU is very capable of doing all 3 today. Our D can IMO do a decent Jon against a somewhat one deminsional offense, but being on the field all day, due to the powerful LSU deffense which I stated in my OP will be the key to LSU pulling away in the 2nd half.

    UK has talent. Just because they haven't played well doesn't mean it's a team full of bums. This team has 5-6 win talent. I don't care how poorly they have played. I cannot wait for these guys to put some wins together so that so many will hopfully man up and eat some serious crow.

    Prof, I fully understand how good this LSU team is. Although I still think Bama is better.
    LSU is the same team they are every year, incredable D and a somewhat limited offense.

    Again, neither of us said UK would win, or even avoid a blow out. I simply stated that I think UK hangs closer than some think in the early going.

    Okay big boy, impressive speech but you're about to look silly. We'll be behind 28-0 at halftime if we're lucky. This game is a total mismatch. I'll be back at halftime to apologize for questioning your vast knowledge of the game if I happen to be wrong.

    Didn't mean it that way mj. But, it will not be the blowout everyone expects. I think UK pushes LSU for 3 quarters. I really feel being on the road these next two weeks will be HUGE for the 'Cats. Commonwealth is getting a bit toxic. When things go bad, I think the team is waiting for the boo birds to come out. That won't factor today and next Saturday.

    Alpha, you should have left that post in your back pocket to avoid lookin like an apparent idiot with ZERO knowledge of anything like I am I guess.

    I mean, the nerve of a couple (I guess we are all that's left) of fans to have some optimism about our football team, or think that after a brutal early schedule that LSU might not be up for this game like they should.

    I apologize for questioning your knowledge. I was wrong in thinking we wod be down 28-0. However, I still say that our offense is a complete and utter embarrassment and LSU will in no way get close to feeling threatened this game.

    Lol. I appreciate the "Mr."

    I never said the offense would play well. I also said that I thought LSU would pu away. We just can't muster up enough offense to hang. Newton is just awful. Has the phyiscal tools but just refuses to see the field. I'm not big on throwing a true FR into the game but...can he truly be any worse? I think the O line has played ok so you can't blame them for Newton's play this week. Clemons is running really hard, especially considering the LSU D knows we can't pass the ball.

    I do not believe though that the long-term eating crow will happen, this team isn't that good and plays in a great conference (which you know). We are looking at 4-8 if lucky with a remote possibility of 3-9.

    So was I and no...it was not.

    The defense played well enough to win. For the offense to as horrid as it was and still somewhat of a close game into the 3rd quarter was not what anyone thought it would be.
