If you could...

  • Pick one guy to get for sure on signing day for football, who would it be, who is your "must get" above all else?

    This is just for fun, and see what people think on recruiting.

  • My first choice (I know he's already eliminated UK) would be
    James Quick

    It would be HUGE symbolically and he has potential to make the new offense that much more explosive.

    My second choice (and legitimate shot) would be
    Mackenzie Alexander...

    He brings legitimacy that other recruits may follow. His brother, the DT Senat on his HS team.

    Plus, on the field, he allows for a much stronger defense IF e develops into the true shutdown corner he is projected to be second choice would be

    Ditto. Upgrading the talent on the defensive side and in the trenches is more important than offensive skill players. For offense I would say Timmons or Woulard. I know we have some solid QBs for the foreseeable future but landing a fish like Woulard would be huge for this program nonetheless.

    I agree with you, elite corner, that brings his talented brother with hm and possibly their star DT with them. He comes, this defense becomes better instantly.

  • Jason Hatcher. James Quick is not and never was an option for UK. They do have a shot, albeit tiny, of landing Hatcher. I think it would make a huge in-state statement (as well as giving us another 4-star at a position of real need).

    If I could have 13 more to round out the class they would be:

    Why in the world would we even consider putting a grayshirt on a kid like Hyde who was an Army AA? And plays a position of need? If it were to come down to needing to ask for a GS from anybody the staff would find someone less important in the grand scheme of things. As to the original question..........I would say MacKenzie Alexander followed by Ryan Timmons.

    Yup. Stoops (and every new coach for that matter) needs a signature "name" recruit to generate a buzz and get the momentum rolling. Landing a 4-start,, Elite -11, QB out of Florida would be just the ticket. It sends a message to players and highschool coaches in the talent rich Florida that it's okay to pick UK over some of the big boys. It would open up a lot of additional doors in Florida.

  • If I had to pick 1..it would be MacKenzie..Stoops has promised him pt at WR/CB/KR. Youd think wed also get his twin.,.a nice saftey..and possibly big Deadrin Senat. So this 1 would turn into 2 and perhaps 3 big time lands.Our defense would get better instantly. So MacKenzie would be a big time land..imo..for more reasons than just getting him.
    Courtney Love wouldnt be a bad pick either..and we get him we may also land his teammate Marcus McWilliams.

    THink its McWilliams Mike..really dont think we will get either..this was a "hope so" "if you could pick one.." type deal. Me..Id go MacKenzie..you almost assuredly get his twin ..how many twins split up? None i can think of..and possibly Senat too? Would be huge!!

  • I'm going with an offensive and defensive guy.

    Offensive- Samples. Big time WR who could really make an impact from the moment he steps on campus.

    Defense- Hatcher. Would be a big time get on the defensive side of the ball, pass rushing end, something we haven't had since Jarmon. Also in state and at Trinity, which has been almost walled off from UK in the past.

  • A poster on CI is stating that the staff feels really good about Hatcher and he is going to announce at the All Star game in 5 days..They are confident it will be UK..Check it out.

    Other than those two I would happy to get 5-10 players that are listed on the UK targets on this site. This staff is doing a great job of getting the UK name out there and now I cannot wait to see how they finish up. Also, can someone tell me if Elliot is coming to UK? I have been out in Montana for awhile and have been "off the grid" so to speak. Thanks in advance.

  • Everyone can agree the UK brand name is expanding and just a month ago no one would think UK would be in on any of these kids like they are now, and looks like Timmons and Alexander would be top 2 choices.
