We are going to be way over 25. Closer to 32ish is the goal for this class. We only signed 19 in the last class so we can back count up to 6 EEs towards the previous class. We are WAY behind in terms of numbers. With all the injuries, transfer etc we need to sign a boat load because we dont have very guys on scholarship right now.

I promise you we are allowed to do that and we will be doing just that. While there is a 25 limit max, we only signed 19 in the last class so we can have 9 guys from this class EE and they would could towards last class, not this one. That way we can bring in more than 25 players in this class.

That could be correct too I guess, but I don't see too many teams having 25 scholarship seniors and being under the 85 man limit in which your situation would suggest. Regardless, in the SEC there is still ways for teams to get more than 25 guys each recruiting period proving Georgia can likely get 30+ if they want.

A quick search lef to this article outlining the rule changes that were enacted. It doesn't specify the "provision" for back-counting but from the way it's worded it implies a program can only sign 25 per class (it doesn't matter if some don't qualify they still count toward the 25, this is why it's considered a "hard cap") but can also back-count early enrollees to the previous class (not to exceed the class limit of 25 total).
-Reduced the permissible number of signees from 28 to 25 and moves the start date for the window for counting date back to Dec. 1. There would still a provision for "back-counting" signees if a school had less than 25 incoming initial counters in the preceding year.

For the record I am just passing along what I've learned from UGA mods and recruiting analysts. What I've been told by Rusty over at Georgia's site is that we can take up around 32-34 guys. Part of that is because we only took 19 last year and two didn't qualify. We have a bunch of guys who want to EE and can count towards last years class allowing us to pass the 25 commit limit for this class. I am by no means an expert when it comes to this rule, I don't think anyone completely understands it, nobody I've talke to a least. All I know for sure is that the UGA mods on each site are saying we can take around 32-34 this class and Richt himself said we are trying to sign 30+ guys.
