  • "Coach Cal gets it."

"Apparently the University of Kentucky basketball dynasty is to continue forever." - Philadelphia Inquirer, December 23 1954.

  • No matter what the media says or other jealous coaches, Cal is the Man, he is the head of the Roman Empire, he is at Camelot and they all know it!

  • Coudln't have said it better myself Topper. Coach Cal just gets "IT." He does the perfect job of talking about our history and where we want our future to go. Here's hoping he can match Rupp's feat and win back-to-back titles here this year. GBB!!!

  • By the time he retires, if he stays with us, he may well be hailed as the greatest college basketball coach ... ever.coffee

I just wish he had been here when Pitino left, no offense to Tubby, then he might have had who knows how many championships by now and what you said about him being the greatest coach would be true. It gets me excited to just think about if he had been here the past 20 years and the accomplishments he would have brought to UK already but the KY job is a job that may not be the kind you can stay at into your upper 60s or so maybe others think otherwise and they could be right but theres no doubt Cal has and will do some fantastic things at UK.

  • Good stuff in this series. Thanks, guys.

  • "Keeper of the tradition"... awesome quote.

That's the line that proves he gets it.

It might have been nice to have Cal when Pitino left, but I would have been estatic to have had Cal instead of BCG. What a difference he would have made for those two years! Our string of NCAA tourneys would have continued and who knows how successul those years could have been.
