Let em have Gruden..He has no college experience and no recruiting experience..Whole different ballgame from the NFL.. After Grudens Super Bowl with Tampa and Dungys players, he proceeded to go 6 straight years without a single playoff win and thus, got canned.. His Oakland stint had also gone south and he was canned in that job, as well.. Personally, I like Gruden and he's a big name, but, I don't think he's gonna go into UT and take over against coaches like Spurrier, Richt, Muschamp, Saben, Miles, etc, who have a much better grasp of the SEC and recruiting.. He's an upgrade to Dooley, but, there's no way he goes into UT and immediately starts winning 5-6 SEC games a year, especially when they'll likely lose there QB and top 2 WRs and RB, which is about 90% of there offense.. Now, if they give him 5-6 years, I think he may can get to that point, but, I trully feel there will be some disgruntled fans before then and with his background, likely a conflict or 2 with the administration.. also, I see him giving this a try for a couple of years and then bolt back to the NFL and UT will be back at square 1..

Once again, deville..you prove you have more football sense than 99% of these posters. Anyone thinking Gruden would not win at Ut is silly. Guys won super bowls..had Oakland on the verge..Kids and more importantly..thier fathers..know the name Jon Gruden..instant recruits..instant respect..guy knows what it takes to play and win in the NFL..its laughable how some on here just have to be negative..or bash for no reason other than to bash..or say Butch Jones is a homerun hire..imgetting sick of saying this...BJ is 21-14 at UC..1-2 in bowls at UC and CMich..what friggin secret do these guys know that has BJ coming here..to Uk..and doing as good..or better? If you want a 21-14 record..in the big east..which translates to mabye 14-21 in the SEC..OMFG...period....................................................................period..........................PERIOD! Deville..ups and kudos, you, my friend..at least understand football!
