That is the best decision for both the program and Towles' personal development. It is a GOOD thing to be able to RS a QB of his caliber. Barring injury, no one is playing until Smith is gone (whether that is after his JR or SR year), so no need in wasting a year of eligibility. I'm more excited to see how good Smith is going to be by his SR year.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully we stay healthy enough that he won't be forced to burn it.

And I would much rather see Whitlow running the Wildcat then Newton.

I agree with wanting to see Whitlow run the wildcat. Morgan's best role right now is to find spots as an H back or tight end, although the tighte end play does seem to be improved this year.

Towles should RS. It's going to take a very impressive QB to take the job from Smith, barring injury. Smith's progression is exciting for the Cats for future, and if Towles' talent and knowledge is similar the QB position is set for a few years. A solid QB helps recruiting at the skilled positions. All good things for the Cats in the future.
