Jones, Davis, and MKG gone according to...

  • A Matt Jones tweet. Says he got it from Chad Ford. Can we get some confirmation??

    MossCat15

  • Not surprising...Davis and MKG are defenite lottery picks and I think Jones can slip in there as well.

Yea, no doubt about it. I just wanted some confirmation from someone on the site. Also, would like to get confirmation of the new budget info. that another poster has brought to light. Jeff, where you at buddy?

    MossCat15

  • I assume that Davis is gone and probably MKG but do you think Jones will get into the lottery? If he doesn't then do you think he will still go?

Well apparently Chad Ford knows something we don't and all three have decided to go. That's what I am trying to get confirmed here.

I just checked the 10 most recently updated mock drafts and 7 of the 10 had TJ in the lottery. The other three all had him in the top 20.

It's an insider piece. He states that Davis, MKG, and Jones are all going to declare according to sources. No mention of Teague or Lamb.

    allenctynimrod

  • There isn't really anything to confirm. It's been known for a while they are likely to go. People behind the scenes have said that for weeks. At this point it should be considered an upset if any of them come back, including Lamb and Teague. UK's coaches have been hinting at that for 2-3 weeks.

  • I'm not doubting it, but, when did Chad Ford become the spokesman for them?

    ukblueforever

  • File this under "Best Guess" category because that's all it is. Like Matt said, people in the UK program have been hinting that it's likely for quite some time, but none of these guys or their families have been telling anyone yet.

The 'cool' thing now is for every national guy to cite 'sources' to make it appear as though they know definitive stuff. My sources have been saying for weeks all five of the main underclassmen are gone. I've said that on here. Jeff has said the same. But none of the people actually involved have made it definitive yet. That's today's sportswriter world for the national folks. They're so hellbent on being relative nationally they say the obvious and then if they're wrong claim their sources were just mistaken at the time.

Thanks, the second I saw those two were the source of the bleacher report I was skeptical.

This is 100% spot on. It's also true for the recruiting "insiders".

  • It is OK with me if they all go. They did a great job for UK. On the other hand, we have finally run out of Gillispie and Tubby recruits who have played a very important role on each of our last 3 teams. Having Miller and Lamb/Jones was critical to winning this championship and I don't see anyone to carry a new bunch of freshmen to this level. Maybe Wiltjer or Harrow or Hood but it would be nice to have one of the starters return.

If I could have one player back off of this team out of Teague/Lamb it would be Lamb.

  • MKG MAY GO IN THE TOP 5. I JUST HOPE HE CAN LEARN A JUMP SHOT. 6,6 PLAYERS IN THE NBA DO NOT LAST LONG WITH NO JUMP SHOT. AND I DO NOT GIVE A CRAP ABOUT GREAT HE PLAYS D OR HIS HEART THAT IS ALL GREAT, BUT NO JUMP SHOT = NO NBA FUTURE.

LOL . Spot on Matt! It seems to me that the entire national sports reporting world just blurbs out anything with no consequence for false information for just using the word 'sources'. 'Sources' should be named , or label it as a guess.

Same goes for the "recruiting" insiders. This is all Meyer and Daniels did earlier this week. "sources" said Georgetown is an option for Noel. Seriously? Noel has listed them... Ucla leads for shabaz? Really? And the sky is blue.

  • If we do lose Bazz to UCLA, we will only have two true guards. Even if we do land him, chance are he will be suspended for several games and we will be looking at Harrow and Goodwin as our only backcourt scholly guys. A turned ankle and we're down to one guard. Unless Cal is going to play Poythress at guard some or he has an under-the-radar guy lined up, it leads me to believe that either Lamb or Teague may be back.

hood? Beckham? Two guys who would have played major minutes under tubby.

I hope both can surprise with some helpful mintues, but can't see Cal going into next season counting on either for anything meaningful.

I would say Bazz plays the 3 should we land him.

    Signed, Tony Allen.

& BTW Gilchrist is much closer to 6'8" than he is 6'6". The list of players that have entered the NBA at that height w/out a j and been very successfull is much longer. Also, if you look at his numbers rebounding the basketball (for a great rebounding team), the number of players with those type of averages in college that have successfull NBA careers grows even more. A jumper is probably one of the easiest things to improve for players at his AGE. I don't know how some of you continue to harp on him needing to learn a TEACHABLE skill at 18 years old. Nevermind, you are CAPSLOCK.
