Julius Randle vs Andrew Wiggins

    All-Star games are not ideal settings for such comparisons. This was in the semifinals of the Peach Jam, the premier event of the summer.

    just noticed the username nextUKGreat......could this be Julius Randle? Would make sense. In that case, I agree, Randle is a much much better player.

  • It's really hard not to laugh at the one person in this thread who thinks Randle is better than Wiggins. Every argument he / she makes has been based on an inaccuracy. Doesn't anyone else find this funny?

    Anyway, Chris said it best when he said Randle might be the bigger need for next year's UK team (I actually strongly agree with this), but there's no question Wiggins is the best player in the country. I don't know if it's available on Youtube, but I would encourage everyone to try and track down the 2012 Nike Hoops Summit. Wiggins played on the International team and put on a show. Because he was so young, and because he wasn't on the U.S. team, not a lot of people were paying attention but Wiggins looked like an NBA player (at age 16 or 17) playing against a bunch of high school seniors.

  • Wiggins is rated as the No. 1 prospect by 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout, all of whom have guys that have been scouting recruits for a really long time.

    And Wiggins is considered not just the best prospect in the 2013 class but widely considered the best prep prospect since Lebron.

    To say randle is Zach Randolph and wiggins is Jordan or Kobe is the dumbest thing I've ever heard...wiggins can be viewed as a Kobe or Jordan but randle is more like a shorter thicker Garnett...Garnett commin out of high school wasn't the defensive stalwart he is now be was a phenomenal athlete with great upside

    You need to follow basketball more.

    Keep this post in mind in 5 years and revisit it often.

  • Some help for NextUK.. Wiggins had 28 on 12-26 and Randle had 15 on 7-12 when they played H2H at the peach jam (summer 2012 b4 Randle was hurt).. I watched a good bit of the game online.. if you want type Wiggins vs Randle in the search on YouTube and it will show you 4:37 sec highlights of them 2 going at it as the 1st result.. Remember these are "highlights" Wiggins took Randle out the game most of the 2nd half but they wont show that just like Chris said.. Remember Randle "highlights"

    That being said both are great players.. Randle to me is in the mold of Chris Webber, ZBo.. Good hands, passers, good handle for a 4 and can finish.. Think we would use him exactly how we used T.Jones.. Wiggins is in the mold of Scottie Pippen to me.. Athleticism is his trump card and he won the DNA Lottery.. Im not buying anyone who says Randle fits better b/c we need a 4.. The way the game is played now 3's are asked to post up alot due to mismatches.. If you have watched Wiggins he lives near the paint.. He is too athletic for most people around the rim.. Wiggins will post a 3 and blow by a 4 (also could probably post up and elevate over him with his 6'11" wingspan + 40+ vert).. What did we do last year when we needed to score, Post up MKG or DMillz whichever one had the mismatch.. Thats why Bron and Melo play alot at the 4 now, better matchups for their teams..

    With that being said give me the Canadian all day but the kid from Texas is really nice too.. Cant go wrong with either, or both! #BBN

  • In my mind i like Randle better then Wiggins. But after hours of thinking i admit that Wiggins is the better player right NOW. I think in college we will see one or the other separate themselves from the pack and we wont have to compare them to any other player because we with out a doubt know who's superior.
