Kentucky Football preseason top 25!

  • We had a very good offense when max smith was QB if we had a servicible Defense we could of won all our non conference game. We consistently drove the ball down Louisville throat and we had fumbles in red zone. so think about it If we land 5-8 4 stars and mackensie (5*). we have to be a preseason top 25 team with neal brown, eliot, mark stoops coaching. Think about it we played a whole bunch of freshmen and sophomores last year and they gained a whole bunch of experience, Now they are sophomores and juniors. Our offense would be explosive with timmons, chestnut, collins, sweat, robinson, lagree, cunningham, khalid thomas. We get our starting RB back josh clemons, raymond sanders, JON JON, Mobley. On defense we have mister cobble, Donte Rumph, Alvin Dupree, Avery Williamson,Ashely Lowery. and the experienced sophomores Farrington Huguenin,Pancho Thomas, Khalid Henderson,Zack Blaylock, Fred Tiller, Cody Quinn, J.D. Harmon. We also get to see former army all american Glen faulkner.

  • Not very likely. Although I share your enthusiasm, if you think the dyed in the wool voters who actually vote on stuff like that share your theories...........Well, just look at the history of those votes. I do believe we will see it in the next few years, but we gotta prove it on the field 1st.

  • I like your enthusiasm. And try not to take it personally......some posters are likely to slam you.

As shepp said, baby steps. We would be lucky to have a winning season next yr. We have a new coaching staff, new offense, new defense......and likely will start a bunch of sophomores every where. Our staff, recruits, and current players have some developing/growing up to do. It's going to take time.

Sometimes you asked to be slamed. UK a op 25 team. stay off the crack pipe.

May be yr 2 for stoops.

  • We went 2-10 last year lost by 17 plus 8 times. I don't think that qualifies as a top 25 team.

I look for UK to be much improved next year and to be competitive in most games and maybe even make a run at 6 wins, but top 25 especially pre-season is way off base

  • There are very few what I would call impact freshmen on any team. Freshmen aren't going to have any baring on your preseason ranking no matter how many stars they have before their name, neither are new coaches.

You get ranked when you do a lot of good things on the field so people can see it on their TeeVees, not before.

  • There is absolutely no chance Kentucky is a preseason top 25, and probably no chance of postseason top 25 team. This is still a 2-10 team that has a brutal 2013 schedule. Anything in the ballpark if 5-7 to 6-6 would have to be considered major, major progress.

Yeah I know. He's a new poster. If he was an established poster that we knew then maybe it would different, but for all we know the OP is an 8 yr old who is just really excited. I hope he doesn't get bashed too much.

  • Notre Dame wasn't even in the top 25 preseason this past year. UK has serious weaknesses at DL and OL. This is a slow building process for UK. Lets try to win 5-6 games next year. The schedule is brutal.

No... Lets try to win them all. We can call it a success if they get 5 or 6 wins. =)

  • You are talking about UK......right? Not a chance we're preseason top 25. You have to show some promise from the previous season, and with a completely new staff and all, we have nothing to indicate that kind of team.

  • I know there no chance but i'm just sharing my excitement.

  • I don't expect to get 5-8 4 stars on a consistent basis either. It seems a lot of people expect this to happen and I believe those people will be disappointed, which could contribute to fans not giving this staff long enough. I think increased expectations are good but the amount at which most people are portraying are too high I think. Keep it reasonable. We can be a top 30-35 team with 3-5 4 stars a year. Our society as a whole gets too high and too low. Too much kool-aid being passed around. However, I'm about as excited as I've been for this program too.

  • Not trying to be a downer but it he can get us perseason top 25 by season 3 i would still be very impressed.
Love the way u think to the OP, if we get all those 5-8 4*s and the twins we may very well be in the top 25 at some point in Stoops 2nd season IMHO

I still think the numbers are going to have to change before we can take up to 9 more new players with what we already have. It would be nice but I don't it will happen will the amount of time we have left.

Gotta give us a least a little hope if a team can go from garbage to gold in a year right?! Haha
