honestly, i think UK will make the tourney, it may be for the wrong reasons though. The NCAA is all about the $ and which team always brings the most $ to tournaments? UK. so if the committe is down to LaSalle or Ole Miss and UK, do they worry about making the right choice or the $. my guess is the latter. However i wouldnt complain lol, i pray we make the tourney.
Our fans travel well, but I'm not sure the grand masses are prepared to spend hard earned money to watch THIS team play. Too big a risk of going home frustrated and broke. If we get shipped out west (if we got in) I don't think we'll travel as well as normal. Also, I've got this fear the committee will send some kind of odd message UK's way--whether it be that even defending champs need to earn their berths every season or perhaps a shot to John that the one and done thing isn't going to work every year...I don't know. But there's a lot more going against us than for us right now. I'll be surprised to see our name called tomorrow.
It's still very possible. We are in the conversation, and for that reason, the fan following/ticket sales (even if low, much more than the other teams on bubble) and our name should help. At least it's not a forgone conclusion like the last time we missed the tourney. I still have some hope this go round.

As an update, Bracket Joe no longer even has us in the "First four out."
We fell down a line and Tennessee replaced us. I have no idea how that makes any sense.
It seems for a lot of people in the media, it's great for UK to not make it this year. There is a ton for a lot of people to write about and easy made articles that will be easily picked up and read in magazines and on websites.
It seems people now only go by the last 6-7 games of a season, including a conference tournament, which makes the good chunk of the season not matter. There aren't any bubble teams really worth a damn this year. The best team record wise is MTSU, and their SOS was over 120 I believe, but they won around 28 games.
Teams with a good looking record have the weakest schedules of all the bubble teams, and the teams with a solid looking record (one that is at least 20 wins) but a good chunk of L's, have played much better teams and have a SOS in the top 80. I hope UK could be like VCU was a few years ago and get in with so many people saying they dont't belong. To me that is a great example of how the "experts" aren't always great at predicting teams who get in or not. Sorry for the long post, but this has been bugging me like crazy.
Me too. I'm drained. I just laid down to go to sleep, and had a vision of the selection show. It was Gumbel, and he said, in the Midwest Region as the 6 seed, the Butler Bulldogs.... And they will take on the defending National Champion Kentucky Wildcats as their 11 seed.... Hope it comes to fruition. See everybody tomorrow at 6:00
