Kentucky basketball at White House UPDATE: CEREMONY HAS STARTED

Kentucky will have its moment of celebration with President Obama for winning the 2012 national championship this Friday at 4:50 pm...
"The amazing thing is the first thing that was said when the horn sounded in New Orleans was, ‘We’re going to the White House!’” John Calipari said. “It’s one of those moments for these players that they have probably thought about without us even knowing that it was important to them. So I’m excited about the opportunity for them to meet the President of the United States, the Leader of the Free World and someone who is trying to make a difference in their lives.”
BROADCAST INFO:
Fans interested in watching the 2012 NCAA Basketball Champion Kentucky Wildcats’ visit to the White House on Friday, have a few options.
ESPNU will be covering live UK's tour of the White House and meeting with the Commander-in-Chief. Andy Katz will be with the team in D.C. for the SportsCenterU Special: Kentucky at the White House, which begins at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Additionally, ESPNU will show a half-hour special, All Access: Kentucky at the White House next week, with the first episode airing on Friday, May 11, at 11:30 p.m.

among UK fans the POTUS is not a popular man but do not underestimate the importance that this visit carries with the guys on the team.
when they look back on their careers and what basketball has provided them, this will be one of their biggest highlights.
as a fanbase i think we should try to let them enjoy it to the fullest and not cheapen it will personal opinions of the President.

To me, it doesn't matter who the POTUS is. It's always a great honor, and something these guys will always remember.

I am a huge critic of Potus but it is a huge honor for them to meet the Potus no matter who it is. They will remember this for the rest of their lives.
