**Kentucky football coaching staff (UPDATE: Brumbaugh)**

  • That's what I thought too, but I thought that was the same role as Director of Football Ops (recruiting one, there were two). RC isn't always administrative. Chuck Smith was Kentucky's recruiting coordinator last year.

  • Just confirmed with Stoops that he will keep UK's GA's from last year: Andre' Woodson, Tyler Sargent, Kyle Krantz, Steven Montalvo

Sr. Director of Football Ops (team) Director of Football Ops (recruiting) - Frank Buffano

S&C Coach Nutritionist - Erik Korem Assistant S&C Coach

OC - Neal Brown Off. Assistant - Chad Scott OL - John Schlarman TE - Vince Marrow WR/RB

DC/LB - DJ Eliot DL - Jimmy Brumbaugh CB S/ST - Bradley Dale Peveto

Not really sure where Berezowitz fits in. I thought Buffano and Berezowitz kind of fit the same role.

Hey Josh, take a look at the below articles and see if it doesn't make sense to list Eric Korem as the "Football Performance Coordinator". I just don't see him getting the $240k Jimbo Fisher mentions as solely a Nutritionist.

Edit: I have to learn how to put links in a post here. Until I do, the first article is from the Orlando Sentinel (today) and quotes FSU Coach Jimbo Fisher:

"He did a great job here," Fisher said. "He got a great deal. He was making $85,000 here, now he's making $240,000 there."

At Kentucky, Korem has moved into the role of high performance coach. In Fisher's role, that position heads up all of strength and conditioning and athlete training.

The second article I tried to link was one announcing that Rock Oliver was being re-assigned and stated the following:

"UK posted an opening on its jobs website on Wednesday for "Football Performance Coordinator." The position is described as overseeing the physical development for "strength, speed, agility, and quickness development," while also being responsible for giving players nutritional advice and taking account of their mental state."

Florida State has another position to fill with Erik Korem's departure - OrlandoSentinel.com

Florida State has another position to fill with director of operations Erik Korem's departure to Kentucky to join Mark Stoops' new staff there. The Seminoles had been rumored to move linebackers coach Greg Hudson to the position. Jimbo Fisher said Hudson will remain his linebackers coach.

  • Thanks, Romp!!!

Here's what I found for "Football Performance Coordinator", which I believe will be Korem's title:

The position is described as overseeing the physical development for "strength, speed, agility, and quickness development," while also being responsible for giving players nutritional advice and taking account of their mental state. The position requires "strength and conditioning coaching experience". "They will serve as the strength and conditioning liaison between other athletic departments."

Here's the job description for "Director of Football Recruiting, which I believe will be Berezowitz's title":

Director of football recruiting will be responsible for a couple of full-time employees working directly under him/her and also have a handful of students working in the office, according to the posting. The position will be in charge of coordinating official and unofficial visits for recruits during the season while helping to run summer camps and clinics.

This Director of Football Recruiting pretty much looks to fill the role that David Armstrong played prior to his resignation back in August. On-campus recruiting---and the administrative support to the coaches in all aspects of operations, organization and management of recruiting.

  • Thanks, Shockey. When I put nutritionist it was a bit misleading. I just meant that it was the only one specified in dealing with nutrition. Based on his salary though, I think his duties entail more than I expected.

I expect Berezowitz to have the recruiting position too but where does that leave Buffano?

Two different positions IMO and shows the dedication that UK is putting into football. Berezowitz IMO will be RC but it's administrative and more in line what's been used at AZ, Okie and Wisc. Not sure how that will fit here but I beleive that will be the role. Buffano's role will be one that we're used to here at UK. JMO.
