    How about Harrow.

Which do you think have been more impressive?

  • I know Vandy's not exactly a world-beater this year ... but the 'Cats are really starting to show some signs of coming together as a team. They look much more confident in what they're doing and confident in their teammates.

  • I think Kyle would be best if he played a 3 role. He flat out cannot guard down low. Maybe he can guard a bit on a smaller guy who likes to shoot. I don't know. But you can't have Kyle out there as a 4 or 5 without killing our offense. Kyle needs to be out on the key or the three point line in order to be worth much. Otherwise, he's a killer for us. Stick him in for Mays from time to time and let him spot up. I know our 7 footers need a breather, but it's BAD when they leave.

  • HALF: UK 35, Vandy 24; It seems almost impossible 'Dores within 11 shooting 27.8% and with only two 3's, while UK at 58% from field

He can't guard out on the perimeter either ...

guard would drive by him so easily...

Wiltjer doesn't seem to understand defense...the defensive break down he has had is crazy...

I don't think it's so much that he doesn't understand it ... I think he's just too limited athletically to be able to do what he needs to do.

nope...multiple times he just simply did not communicate and gave up very easy points.

he isn't athletic, but there are many un athletic players in college that defend well, because they understand position. Wiltjer absolutely does not understand the position. Every time he is in the game, it looks like UK defense goes from efficient to completely confused.

Good point. I guess I'm too focused on his lack of athleticism. He needs to make up for that with better positioning, communication, etc.

Wiltjer instead of blocking out a guy UNDER the basket...he goes to the guy on top of the key...wtf..

  • Yeah, I get what you guys are saying about him getting beat. But I'm counting on our big guys to help and wipe some of that away. Look, Kyle is a liability on D. That's a fact. We just need to do whatever we can to somewhat minimize it. Let him guard and play out on the perimeter. He'll shoot better out there and he'll be *somewhat* less damaging because he can stand out there with his long arms, defend the three, and if he gets beat, our big guys have to know how to rotate properly and help off. That's about all we can do, I think.

Also, has anyone else noticed Knight is going out of his way to compliment Cal and UK? He's trying really, really hard. If this were my first game, I would assume he was a huge UK fan. Wonder if ESPN had a talk with him lol. That...or he's horribly drunk. Either/or

What you say can risk our players into foul trouble.

    so, no thanks.

Wiltjer's mistakes are MISTAKES. They can be learned and improved. I wish he can become more athletic as well, but his mental mistake is what's killing. For some reason just with him, switches look clumsy and confused. Our players bump into each other and then a guy gets open look.

I am PISSEDDDDD at Wiltjer right now. ARggggg
