This team is frustrating. No doubt about it, but we fans should take a breath and put things into perspective.
We just won the National Championship. All we returned was a guy who played spot minutes and a transfer PG who sat out. I had high standards for this season, but I haven't been overly critical. This is clearly becoming a rebuilding year.
Only Noel should go pro, but I won't be surprised to see Poythress and Goodwin leaving as well. Poythress definitely should stay.
if goodwin and poythress are going to continue to refuse to play, then I don't want them back. If they man up then yeah, but I don't want them back the way they are playing right now.
One of our many problems, and it was so obvious today, is that we do not have a single "go to" guy when we need a basket. I was hoping at the beginning of the year that Wiltjer would be that guy, or from reports it would be Goodwin. But we have no one. And as far as Nates statement about going to the NBA, I don't think we have 1 guy that ought to go. Noel is a force on D but his offensive skills are very limited and would be eaten alive in the NBA. Bubble team? Almost a certainty at this point.
I just hope we are on the bubble. If we are, I think name recognition gets us in. It sucks watching selection Sunday knowing you're out. We just have to hope we win some close ones over the next 8 winnable games. Need 7 of them!!
IF they go pro they will spend 2 years in the D-League and then Euro ball at this point. Noel is the only one of these FR that would stick in the NBA as they are now.
