If they are in the tournament, it means they deserve a bid....
Lol, if you havne't noticed every bubble team has lost. What makes UK any less deserving than others?
But this loss might kick us out....
For me, it's not just the loss but also the who and way they are losing. Bottom line for me is this isn't an anomaly. Thumped by UGA and Arkansas back to back and then this ish tonight with the season on the line. If I'm on the committee then they don't get my vote. I'm not bitter or angry but after tonight I just don't think they deserve it! Got about six and change to prove otherwise.

MEDIA TO (3:49) - Vandy 62, UK 45; The lights dimming quickly on Cats' NCAA Tournament at-large hopes.
Truly disappointing end to a disappointing year. No way this team deserves a bid and it just shows how special last years team really was. These guys just never gelled and became a team. Going to be a dull march for me because I don't watch the tourney without uk in it!

If you take WCS and Noel away this year really no one on this team to like!! So disappointed....

Great recruiter. Poor coach. Needs five first round draft choices to win. Team this year never improved. As bad the first game as last. Disappointing.
Don't blame the coach. He worked his a$$ off this year! Team either did not want it or had internal issues among themselves. If the team would have played half as hard as Cal coached this year, I can assure you we would not be on the bubble.
At least for once we have spring football practice and the spring game to enjoy and occupy our time. The NCAA basketball torunament will be of no interest to me without UK. I am not bitter, but I am disappointed. I appreciate all student athletes that choose to play for UK. We will be back next year with a vengeance.
Good luck to those that will not be back next year. Go CATS!!!

That's just utter nonsense. Cal is as good a coach there is in the college game. Things just didn't work out this year due to losing practically everybody from last year and guys just not being as good as advertised coming out of HS. I do think he learned the necessity and importance of having solid role players who provide continuity and stability from year to year. Betcha he won't ever get caught short like this again!

Oh stop. Coach Cal is not the problem with this year's team. Some of the guys have just had difficulty understanding and accepting their roles. The determination, fight, and will to win are just not there as a group from the players. They try and give good effort most of the time but end up playing like moat other freshmen and sophomores.
If we do end up in the NIT it will be Cal's first since '05. Think he won the NIT with a 22-16 Memphis squad. That was the year Darius Washington missed 2 of 3 free throws with no time on the clock and a chance to win in the CUSA tourney final against UofL.
By comparison Pitino, Roy, Howland, Donovan, Boeheim, Calhoun, Crean have all missed the dance more recently.
Guess they all suck too.
Really that goes to show you that few coaches are immune to an occasional NIT team. Coach K, Bill Self and Izzo seem to be the only ones that haven't missed the tournament in the last decade.
Izzo has been close multiple times though.
