Live Updates: Kentucky at Missouri

  • Everything I have read lately says the staff is staying. Please tell me that is not true. It is a kick in the face to fans of KY/ SEC football.

Are you serious? Come on, Matt.

He was medically cleared to play, therefore he can't get a medical redshirt. It's pretty simple. Once he was healthy enough to practice and play he played. The kid and his family wanted him to play. There's four games left in the season. He played earlier this year. It's not rocket science.

I find all the outrage over the Towles situation this year so predictable and tired. Seems a lot of fans want to have it both ways in his case. Doesn't work that way. There's plenty to be rightfully pissed about. His deal isn't one of them.

If they are kept there won't be more than 30,000 in the stands next year. Just don't sense where Mitch can keep him. There are no signs of improvement in this program.

  • I agree Matt. . not for sure how many times you have to restate that rule. Lots better topics to discuss, although those are getting tiring as well :-)

Missouri had 10-11 guys within 5-6 yds of the LoS at times in the 2nd half and Whitlow could not hurt them. If he can't be a more consistent passer, the whoever the coach is come spring practice, need to work him @ WR and install a Wildcat package for him. A primarily running QB will not cut it in the SEC.

He reminds me of Cobb but not as good of a passer.

  • That is actually a good topic though. There is NOTHING to get excited about now in terms of UK football. There are not even topics to debate, because we know nothing. I went to the gym today at 11 and for the first time since I can remember missed a UK football kickoff. It is so sad to see how far we have dropped in such a short amount of time.

The biggest frustration is that I am not even for sure the administration cares.

I feel for the staff here. . there is just not a good deal to report on football right now.

Tough fall for UK football fans, no doubt. I'm a football die-hard, and it's tough to get excited right now with the current state of affairs and the snow-balling negativity.

I can understand, to an extent, why Barnhart has avoided public comment, as he's sure to get roasted no matter what he says at this point. But he's going to have to address it publicly very, very soon. Regardless of decisions which will be made in the coming weeks, Barnhart (as well as others in UK's administration) would be very well advised, in my opinion, to make painstakingly clear, both with words and actions, that UK is committed to doing what it can to field a competitive football program.
