  • I'm a little confused as to how that adds up to $11M ...

  • Incentives:

    **$100,000 for 5 SEC wins.
    **$100,000 for SEC East title
    **$200,000 for SEC title
    **$50,000 for Non-BCS bowl appearance with less than $2 million in receipts
    **$125,000 for non-BCS bowl with more than $2 million in receipts

    All of this is cumulative, so if UK won, say, 6 SEC games, SEC East title, SEC Championship he would receive at least $900,000

    **$25,000 for team GPA of at least 2.75
    **$25,000 for minimum .950 APR score
    **$50,000 for SEC Coach of Year
    **$75,000 for National Coach of Year

    $2 million in 2013, $2.1 in 2014, $2.2 in 2015, $2.3 in 2016, $2.4 in 2017 = $11 million

  • UK would owe balance of remaining contract if he is let go before 5 years are up.

  • I don't see anything upon first glance that has contractual reference to facility upgrades

    Aaahhh .... might check your numbers in your original post ... you had endorsements going up $1M per year ... not $100K per year.

    Realized what you meant, I was typing too fast. Goes up $100,000 each year, not $1 million

    I was confused with that as well. I thought "am I missing something" because I thought my math was better than that. Now I understand.

    Some of those incentives don't seem like much to me. $100K for 5 SEC wins. 5 wins should be worth at least $250K. How long has it been since we won 5 SEC games anyway.
    $50K for SEC COY and $75K for NCOY. Just doesn't seem like that much to me.shrug

  • I am guessing he has a healthy staff budget and of course will be in line for increases along the way if he is successful. Praying he has a big staff budget. That is the key.

    Apparantly it is enough for Stoops. That is, he agreed to those terms. He may be worth more, but apparantly winning to him is more important than the money.

  • He was making 600,000,so a 1.4 million raise isnt too bad

  • Clarification on the SEC wins, each win - starting with the second one - is worth $100,000. Once they reach five SEC wins he gets an additional $100,000. So basically, total compensation for those marks would be:

    2 SEC wins = $100,000
    3 = $200,000
    4 = $300,000
    5 = $500,000
    6 = $600,000
    7 = $700,000
    8 = $800,000

    So no bonus for a BCS bowl or is that taken into acct with the SEC Champ bonus?

    Or a National Title. I know it's far-fetched but there should still be a lofty bonus for it. Of course if that happens the contract will be torn up and a lot more money will have to be offered.

    You know, you're probably right Carl. That's probably how it was addressed in the contract discussions. Usually that is what happens, new contract gets negotiated with an extension and a substantial raise. Never even thought of that aspect of the situation.

    UK141240

  • Yeah if he wins 5 or more SEC games then thats means he'll be in line for the SEC championship game which means he'll definitely get a raise. Because we'll have to give him a raise to keep him here.

    tWhit

  • Interesting contract...going to be murder keeping up with his salary for all of us.

    If I read that right...if he wins the SEC title by going 8-0 in conference he would receive $1.1M in additional compensation. I'd say that's fair.

    I could be wrong, but I think KSR had a photo of the contract and I thought there was a bonus for a BSC bowl, or maybe it was for a National Championship

    Drewd33

  • Its like this IF STOOPS GOES TO THE NAT TITLE GAME HE WILL HAVE HIS CONTRACT CHANGED PERIOD. His pay would be raised a ton lol lol lol lol lol UK could not pay him what USC or Texas could lol.

    dvillepro1

  • FYI .... posters on the FSU sites are shocked at what we're paying Stoops. Jimbo Fisher only makes $2.75M per year and they're amazed that UK is paying close to that.
