Manti Poopbutt just got ran over!

  • Maybe he should focus more on the truck that just hit em!

  • I think there is an apostrophe in his last name. I only know that from watching a two hour documentary on he and notre dame football. I think it was called "Uk v notre dame basketball", featuring dick vitale.

  • Manti needs to get back to watching basketball games..

    stevendoubleu

  • LOL. That's pretty funny Shepp.

Thank god the kid didn't win the Heisman. I mean he's a great LB but come on.

    tWhit

  • looks like a high school player out there

  • Just got ran over. On which play. These offensive lineman are dominating his ass. Barrett Jones and company are putting a whooping on his candy ass. lol.

    tWhit

  • is he the guy that's flying around missing tackles left and right?

He looks weak and pathetic. Serious was he considered for Heisman?

ND has successfully ruined future undefeated team playing shitty teams.

  • This is the guy that won all the defensive awards over Jones and Clowney.

When an offensive line steamrolls the defensive line as thoroughly as Alabama did Notre Dame, the linebackers stand no chance of making many tackles. Lacy and Yeldon were getting through the line and into the second level at full speed. All of the Notre Dame linebackers and safeties were put in a position of trying to find a tackle angle on the running backs from flat footed positions. That leads to many arm tackles and missed tackles. Manti Te'O had one hell of a season. I do think one thing was shown tonight. Alabama was much closer to what he will face in the NFL, and unless he can carry more weight on his frame, I don't see him as an NFL Mike. I'm no expert so I could be wrong, but I see him more as a WLB and doing a lot of blitzing in the NFL, as opposed to being a run stuffer in the middle. I suppose he could play one of the middle positions in a 3-4, but I think he'll be much more effective blitzing off the edge and dropping into pass coverage in a 4-3 or nickle package. He's too smart, too driven, and has far too much leadership ability to not be able to help any defense. I wish we had one of him around here for the next 3 or 4 years.

Thankyou for a reasonable assessment of the game and of the young man that although didnt play especially effective last night did have a darn good season. There is a reoccuring theme by a few people on this and other sites that like to tear down, embarrass or humiliate someone on a team that is or has played their favorite team. The young man in question is a very good player who happened to get out played last night by superior talent but to say some of the things that has been said is shameful. So I know I will now be the object of these attacks but so be it and at least it will take some of the verbage away from a good kid. Although I was pulling for Bama and am glad they won I had thought ND would have put up a better fight than they did but the result just shows the total dominance of the SEC in football in the country so now if we can get the b-ball side of things straightened out this could be the best overall conference in America instead of just the best f-ball conference by a mile.

Both of the comments regarding Manti Te'O having a nice year are correct and all the negative comments are uncalled for, however. The reason that you have that kind of reaction is the fact that he won "all" the defensive awards so every one expected "Dick Butkus" to be at the game last night and he was not. The national sports media over sold Notre Dame and Manti Te'O because they have a national following because of history. You could see if coming because they were not even ranked in the preseaon. Don't get me wrong they now have a great coach, tradition and I think they will contend in the future for other national championships, it is just a shame that some other more deserving defensive players were left out of the outstanding defensive awards.

  • The reality is when you don't live up to the hype, the scorn and criticism soon follows. It's always been that way it just gets covered way more. I watched the Cotton Bowl because I wanted to see if Manziel was all that (he obviously was). Teo was hyped to the max and on the biggest stage of the season had his worst game, for whatever reason. Doesn't make him a bad player but does open him up to legitimate discussion as to if he's actually as good as advertised. Imagine all the howling today if he had actually WON the Heisman!

  • The best LB on the field last night was Alabama's #32. That guy was everywhere.

    KSt

  • CJ Moseley. Yup. He's one of the best in the country.

  • 1. Don't write any negative comments about any UK player then. "like he has no heart." If we can't even laugh about ND team that has nothing to do with KY.

    2. Teo didn't just miss tackle/arm tackle once lacy got going full speed. Lacy literally watched Teo and side stepped him before he initiated his running game (this happened like...5 times).

    3. Championship game that turned into a beat down. They deserve to be embarrassed...

    4. BTW, that's why you don't stay flat footed, and stay in athletic stance. Watch EVERY SINGLE ALABAMA defenders how they stayed on their tip toes. Also their team defense was excellent. Looked like every tackle was a team effort.

If things like that make you laugh then so be it and I dont have a problem with so called funny things but they do need to be funny in the first place but that is in the eye of the beholder whether something is funny or simply nonsensical.

For what it's worth, most pro scouts/analysists have identified his most glaring weakness as dropping in coverage/playing in space...that wouldn't bode well for a 3-4 OLB...do ya really think he has the speed/strength to be an edge rusher...maybe more of a special-teams demon...would be quite surprised if he's a 1st round pick...

If you read my post carefully No where did I mention not laughing at ND but just not trying to belittle a particular player. From all accounts he is a good kid and maybe the media put him on a defensive pedestal but he sure didnt have anything to do with that. Bama outclassed ND no doubt and saying anything to that effect I think is appropriate. Im not a fan of ND or T'eo specifically so this isnt a sour grapes situation. If you enjoy the type of humor displayed on this thread then enjoy yourself away but I dont have to think its appropriate or funny. So go at me now and leave the kid alone afterall Im an easier target or maybe Im not since I can respond w/o using curse or rude/crude language with as much fervor as anyone. I have agreed with you on a number of ocassions and have done so openingly but on ocassion I do disagree with you and this is 1 of those times.
