  • First of all, no way any team takes Andre Drummond or Jeremy Lamb over Anthony Davis. Just not going to happen barring a major injury.

Second, good to see Darius Miller working his way onto some draft boards.

  • I just don't see Lamb going in the first round. Good shooter at this point but what else stands out?

I can see what you're saying but I can still see a team toward the bottom of the first round using a pick on Lamb.

Yes, he's a known as an outside shooter and he's undersized (who isn't in the NBA these days?) but people underestimate his ability to score. He has a great mid-range game and can get to the basket and score on occasion as well.

He's a scorer. Scorers score. Look what Marcus Thornton did to the Lakers last night--27 points.

  • Speaking of the Kings, Cousins and Hayes got it done last night.

    Cousins – 12 pts, 11 rebs

Hayes – 7 pts, 9 rebs, 3 blks starting at center

Kings are going to be fun to watch this season.

Actually think they're going to be pretty good. Marcus Thornton has gone under the radar but the kid can fill it up. They're only a PG short right now and if Jimmer or Isaiah Thomas can develop they have that too. They're two deep at the 2-5 and might sneak up and get a play off spot in a shortened season. Think them and Minnesota have the chance to be the two biggest surprise teams this year

  • So Chuck did end up with the Kings?? Glad they got all of the issues straightened out. He'll be big in the development of Big Cuz in my opinion cuz if anybody has a real workman's mentality it's ole Chuck

Yeah they got him checked at the Cleveland Clinic and it turned out he had an infection of the pericardium and not an actual heart condition which is what it originally appeared. Aggressive antibiotics should clear that up and not even require surgery. After the Kings confirmed he didn't have the heart condition he was signed again for an extra 1 million over the life of the contract.

Reke plays some PG for them but being honest he's a combo guy who's never going to be a pure PG. He starts but thus far they've ran it with John Salmons handling the ball in a Point Forward role for Reke and Thornton then the majority of the rest of the game they're wanting Thomas and Jimmer to split PG but with both struggling defensively they do go with Evans, Thornton, Salmons, Cousins and Chuck quite a bit too.

  • At the moment... I don't see Teague being a first round pick.

Agree. If Cuz will let some of that Hayes work ethic rub off on him, it would be huge for his development.

Not right now, but remember how much Cal's PGs progress between January and March. By that time I think he's going to have so much potential, it will be hard for NBA teams to pass on him IF point is a need area for them. His decision could come down to just how high he rates. If he's projected after the lottery (likely as of now) it could make sense for him to come back.

  • Anyone else feel like Lamb is one of the most underrated guys in the country? What does he need to do in order to command more respect?

If his growth continues at the same rate we've already seen this season I think he will be. This is also one of the worst PG drafts in recent memory. Kabongo, Marshall, and Teague are the only 3 college players projected as first round guys right now and then there's a PG from the Czech Republic, Dee Bost, and Jorge Guiterrez from Cal (who's not a PG) and that's it for both the first and 2nd round. Maybe Malik Wayns comes out but other than that there just aren't many PGs draft ready right now.

I agree. There's still plenty of time, so anything could happen. I just have a gut feeling Cal will be encouraging Teague to stick around another year.

As for Lamb... the young man is WAY underrated. He deserves more respect for sure.

Yes, IMO he's one of the top players in the country period. I'm trying to think of shooting guards better than he is and Jeremy Lamb is the only guy coming to mind. It can be argued that Doron is just as good as he is considering what he's done thus far with all the talent he shares the spotlight with.

Doron's athleticism is going to hurt him in the NBA for sure. Jeremy Lamb, Brad Beal, Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers, William Buford, Tim Hardaway Jr., and John Jenkins are probably better prepared for the NBA. I'd also expect most of those guys to enter the draft and would expect Lamb to at best be the fifth guy out of that group.

I agree completely, Nate. Doron is underrated due to the amount of talent on UK's roster. The thing few outside of the BBN consider when it comes to these guys is that they have so much talent on their own team that their stats might suffer, but their play does not. Last game out, Doron was 3-5 FGs at halftime and had 9 points, he didn't shoot another shot all game. He didn't have to. On a lesser team, Doron averages 20 pts, no doubt.

Though you're right about those guys you and many GM's probably underestimate his athletic ability because he's not an above the rim player. Doron can kill you from 3, mid-range, and driving to the basket. He's nifty with his layups and gets to the line at a high rate for a guy like him. People said similar stuff about Jimmer's athletic ability and the two NBA games I've seen him play do far I think he will do just fine. I don't think Doron will be a lottery pick, but that may end up being some teams mistake.
