What's that thing John Calipari says about throwing a rock into a pack of dogs...
It's not about not being able to discuss things or saying 'one thing'. Real, thoughtful discussion is the lifeblood of message boards. It's about a small group of posters only posting the same things over and over and over and over again, and in threads that don't have anything to do with the content of those broken record posts. This thread was about the success of the athletics department as a whole, which has been tremendous. Then the same group does what it always does - turns it into a completely useless thread by going to the same tired arguments. The negativity and constant agenda posting by a few posters regarding football and Mitch Barnhart is ruining the entire mood of the House of Blue. That's just a fact.

OB... I don't think any of us here have an issue with your opinion, which I usually feel is delivered in a fair manner, even if don't agree with it. But the fact that it is presented in so many topics that derail the flow of conversation is frustrating. I understand that you have issues with Mitch and will probably never change your mind about them, but in the spirit of maintaining an healthy message board, I would hope that you could bring some other posts to the table. It really feels like the only time we get you to say much is when it's to break out the Mitch Hammer. Know what I mean?

I think people are paying attention but just don't really care about the minor sports that don't pay for themselves.
Just how many on here really follow UK tennis?
No matter if it is right or wrong. that doesn't matter. Football and Mens and Womens Basketball are what 75% of all the fans really care about and right now, UK football is sitting in 3rd place in that order I.m afraid.

Their are no experts on this or any other message board when it comes to UK football. All it is are different views or opinions on the state of the UK football program.
I have to laugh anytime I see someone on here use the argument "you have an agenda" so I disagree with you or your harmful to UK because "you have an agenda". Isn't the basic "agenda" for most true UK fans is to have a better football program and have it be as close to SEC quality as it can be?
Now as far as I know, Mitch Barnhart will not coach or take a snap this year. If he can get money for the football program more power to him and for that he needs to be saluted however he is not out recruiting kids to UK. He is not coaching these kids and he is not the one that appears to this reader to be losing players off the team. I read on another site that the team has lost almost 40% of the players recruited 3 years ago. Now if that is a fact that is news and has nothing to do with an "agenda" But it shows that a football program that needs depth at every position is losing players for whatever reason.
Doesn't someone who cares about the UK football program long term have a right to ask that question and not have be told he is an "agenda" poster?
Am I the only one who would like to know of the players recruited 3 years and 2 years ago just how many are still on the team? Is that a question that is asked by someone on here that has an agenda? To some anytime a question comes up about the abilities of the coaching staff you get the same responses. Joker is great for UK football, Joker needs more time, Joker has given his heart and soul to UK, Joker is recruiting better players and the team "in time" will be better. And if you don't agree you have an "agenda".
Weither you are in or out of bed with Joker and Barnhart, the real question is will the football team be better and if so will UK win more games than it loses. How else can you guage a football programs success unless it is based on W&L's. And that starts with beating Louisville right off the bat. That is the only "agenda" that matters.

I don't see how anyone can look at the overall athletics program from champiIonships to facilities to graduation rates to compliance and not be appreciative of the job Mitch and his staff has done. Probably why so many off his staff are being hired by other programs. Even football has had more on field success more kids drafted and more facility upgrades under his watch then any other AD. That being said I don't think any of us like where the football team is today. But it has nothing to do with of lack of commitment. If you can't appreciate that ONLY at KY is our ability to bond determined by the state legislature you are to stupid to even have an opinion on the subject. This is a fact not the bs story that the UKAA doesn't care about football. Barnhart can't change this and unless there is a billion dollar UK sugar daddy we can't make the financial investment Brooks and even Barnhart want to make in football because you simply can't raise 70 million at once.
Therefore I suggest being appreciative of the success we a having in all sports versus complaining about what you have absolutely no knowledge about.
