After losing a head-to-head recruiting matchup with archrival Louisville Monday morning, UK evened the score when Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cypress Bay 3-star WR Alex Montgomery chose the Cats over the Cards Monday afternoon.

Great pick up. If we can somehow sign Montgomery, Blue, Timmons, and Badet, that would be one heck of a WR haul.

@JamieNewberg Nice grab by #kentucky landing WR Alex Montgomery. He had an unreal post-season & game for the ages state title gm. Great hands/body control
@MichaelWarchant Have to say possibly the biggest steal for #Kentucky in landing Alex Montgomery. Kid dominated the State Finals. Huge upside. HR 4 Stoops.

We needed this kid..in a bad way! He gives Uk a possession receiver with good athleticism to go with the speedsters on the way in Timmons and mabye Badet.
Kudos to Stoops and staff..they are absolutely killin it on the recruiting trail!! Welcome to the BBN Alex Montgomery!! I expect many highlight grabs in your career here!

Great pickup. We all knew it was a long shot on Kelsey. Everybody freaked out because of the way he announced. Either the kid was just being a punk or the dirtybird coaching staff had something to do with it. Either way that's bad karma and it might catch up to them. I don't want a staff that's out there bad mouthing other schools or pulling these shenanigans. I want to build a program the RIGHT WAY.

Wide receiver a huge position of need. Takes some of the pressure off of UK with Timmons, Samples, Badet.

Well I know he loves coach Brown. He loved him at TTU and was close to popping for him. The fact that he has visited here and took an in-home visit means alot. We are a serious contender for him. The In-home did a lot because the theory has been Rashaad is sold on Coach Brown, but his mother was not, so if Coach Brown can sell Momma Samples then he is ours. Just my opinion

I'm not talking about just his height. I don't care how tall Coach Stoops is, so long as he can resurrect this program.

Montgomery is an extremely talented player in his own right. He's an 85 on here, and a 5.7 3 star on Rivals, so essentially a 4 star. We've got a lot of those borderline kids, and not a lot of the 5.3-5.5 3 stars.
